617 Boston Movers has, in just a bit over a year of Google reviews, built a pattern that keeps repeating: the fragile, complicated, or last-minute job that somehow goes smoothly. Reviewers describe crews handling a fiddle leaf fig on a move to Washington DC, boxing up fragile glass display boards without a scratch, and packing a vinyl record collection separately because a customer asked. Based in East Boston, the company works local moves around the city as well as long-distance runs — Allston to Portland, Maine; Cambridge to Pennsylvania; Boston to Florida and Washington DC all show up in its recent reviews. The company holds a 5.0-star rating on Google from 176 ratings, and a Better Business Bureau grade of A. Across its reviews since 2024, the story is consistent: on-time crews, careful wrapping, and — repeatedly — pricing that lands at or under the original quote. One customer specifically noted that the crew asked before adding extra padding instead of charging for it afterward; several others mention a final bill that came in exactly as quoted or lower. That consistency has one exception worth flagging: one recent reviewer's final price came in significantly higher than the estimate, on a move the crew described as more complex than what had been described going in — a reminder to walk through every room and awkward item during the quote, not just the easy ones. Recent jobs also show the crew improvising under pressure — showing up prepared for a snowstorm with floor covers and a shoveled path, stepping in on 24 hours' notice after a landlord forced a sudden move, and re-packing a torn box mid-move with a note explaining what happened rather than staying quiet about it. For a local move in Boston or a longer haul up and down the East Coast, this is a young but consistently reviewed operation — worth a call, with a clear, itemized walkthrough of your whole home before you accept the quote.

Best moving experience I’ve had in the Boston area. Hard workers, serious, polite and everything is quoted upfront. When they could use extra padding or wrapping, they always ask if you want it instead of doing it and then charging. This was a very pleasant moving experience.

I have moved quite a few times over the last few years and this was by far the best moving experience I have had. The movers showed up right on time, were extremely efficient, and very careful with my belongings. They had to do a three story move and completed everything within 3 hours. Great experience, highly recommended.
