A1 Painters

A1 Painters’ customers describe work that extends from wall preparation and painting to decks and bathroom renovations. In a May 2026 Google review, a kitchen-painting customer said the workers filled holes, sanded walls, repaired and painted the ceiling, and cleaned up afterward. Another May 2026 customer credited Mike and his team with complete renovations of three bathrooms and restoration of two decks. The company says it was founded on Cape Cod in 1999 and describes itself as a Barnstable-based painting and home-remodeling contractor serving Cape Cod. Its website lists interior and exterior painting, cedar siding staining, house washing, carpentry, deck staining, and bathroom remodeling. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active under Michael Kildevaeld DBA A1 Painters. BBB gives it an A+ grade; Google lists five stars from eight ratings, and Angi lists 4.8 stars from 49 ratings. Deck preparation received detailed praise in a June 2024 Angi review. The homeowner described several days of sanding a badly deteriorating deck floor and railing to create a level, smooth surface ready for staining. The team also worked on window trim, repaired deteriorated garage-door and window-sill areas, power washed the house and deck, and painted peeling siding. A July 2024 customer described deck replacement, saying the workers arrived when promised and finished in a timely manner. Larger projects appear in older accounts as well. An April 2024 Google reviewer said a project began with new floors and expanded to interior painting, exterior cedar shingles and trim, a new roof, front steps, a dining-room addition, and a new deck. In a separate April 2024 Angi review, a customer with a 200-year-old Cape house described roofing, trim, siding, a porch and deck rebuild, painting, and carpentry. That project was 95% complete when the review was written; the customer said change orders for hidden roof and beam rot had stayed within 10% of the estimate. House washing and deck maintenance also have dated customer accounts. In a July 2025 review, a customer praised Mike’s power washing and sealing of a deck. A May 2025 reviewer described power washing the house and walkways and improving a chipped, peeling bulkhead. Another May 2025 customer said Mike came out to quote the work, returned later that day to complete it, and charged a price they considered fair.
