Accurate Home Inspection

A real estate broker in Acton wrote in February 2026 that Nelson Parness has inspected houses for dozens of her clients over the past eight years. Buyers tell the same story in smaller numbers: one family is on their third inspection with him inside a few years, another hired him for a first home and again for a second, and a 2024 buyer had him look at two houses before they bought. Accurate Home Inspection is a Hudson family business run by Joel and Nelson Parness, doing narrative home inspections with optional radon and water testing across eastern Massachusetts. Its Massachusetts home inspector licence, number 173, is active on the state registry, and the company says it has been working the region since 1996. What customers describe is a walk-along inspection rather than a report dropped into an inbox. Nelson asks buyers to come round the house with him, explains what he is seeing as he finds it, and keeps stopping to check whether they have followed. First-time buyers write about that most. One in December 2025 said she had a lot of questions and he was patient with every one; another in August 2025 said he walked them through each part of the house and why it mattered. A February 2026 customer put it more bluntly: he goes into the places most people would not. The reports arrive fast and come with photographs, explanations of what could go wrong, and what it would take to put right. A May 2025 buyer called the report clear and concise; a June 2026 buyer got upkeep recommendations alongside the defects. In August 2025 someone reached out while Nelson was away on vacation and still had an inspection booked within a few days. For a purchase inspection — a first one especially, or an older house full of unknowns — this is a licensed two-inspector shop that buyers and agents both keep going back to. Book early in your contingency period so there is time to act on what the report finds, and ask whether radon and water testing are worth adding for the property you are buying.
