Accurate Home Inspection is a Hudson-based, father-and-son operation — Joel and Nelson Parness — that says it's been serving eastern Massachusetts since 1996. Nelson's Massachusetts home inspector license is active and state-verified, and by now he's the one homeowners describe by name in review after review: patient, exhaustively thorough, and willing to climb onto a roof or crawl into a space most inspectors skip. The volume here is unusual for a home inspector — 25 reviews on Google, every one of them five stars, spanning 2022 through a run of eight in just the last six months. A few buyers describe using him more than once: one hired him again for a second home purchase after being impressed the first time, and a real estate broker in Acton says she's sent him dozens of clients over eight years. A 2024 review recounts a defect that "exploded all over him" mid-inspection — the kind of detail that reads as first-hand, not staged. What keeps coming up is how he explains things. First-time buyers repeatedly mention that he walked them through every finding on-site, answered every question no matter how many, and followed up with a detailed written report — often the same day. One 2025 review said his report came with pictures and specific items circled for negotiating with the seller's agent; another, also from 2025, said he got on the roof to check shingles himself rather than eyeball it from the ground. There's no negative account anywhere in this history, and the newest reviews, from June 2026, describe the same thing the ones from 2022 do: flexible scheduling, a same-day or next-day report, and a walkthrough that leaves buyers understanding exactly what they're getting into. Beyond confirming availability for a given closing date, there isn't much to flag here — the company also offers radon and water testing alongside the standard inspection, worth asking about if the property warrants it.
