Aceto Earthworks' own website describes the Richmond Storage project, which it says consisted of two phases for expansion of a self-storage location. In a 2023 review, a customer said the company replaced their water main from the street to the house and ran the pipe under a recently paved driveway "without a blemish on it." A 2023 customer said they did a great job on time in the dead of winter and stayed on price. In a 2024 review, a customer said a load broke their windshield and the company would not go good for it. A recent customer said the company was contracted for construction work related to replacing a water main on their street in Portland in the fall of 2025, and that it never gave residents a timeline with dates, would frequently start work before 7am without a heads up, and frequently blocked the customer's driveway with construction vehicles. That customer said the company showed up on 5/13/26 and started topping off areas of concern in yards with top soil without communicating it to anyone, and wrote that "This company does good work, however, the management is sub par."
This company was contracted to do some construction work related to replacing a water main on our street fall of 2025, from August through early November. At no point did they EVER give any of the residents on the street a timeline with dates they would be doing work, expectations regarding need to move cars off street, or any heads up as to the process, which was a pretty extensive process. It was completely mismanaged from the start, even AFTER we worked with our representative from Portland Water District, who met with them multiple times and advised them to give residents adequate notice before performing work. They would frequently start work before 7am, without a heads up, which is in violation of the noise ordinance for the city of Portland. They frequently blocked my driveway with their construction vehicles making it impossible to get to work on time. Had they given us a heads up and a timeline, we could have prepared so that we could avoid these pitfalls like getting stuck in our own driveway in the morning preventing us from leaving on time for work and being told we couldn't return to our own driveway at the end of the day. When we asked the guys doing the job what was going on and for guidance, we were met with resistance and rudeness. The PWD rep talked with them and asked them to provide a timeline for work and important dates for work that would prevent us from accessing our own home, to communicate with the residents of the street so that we know how to best prepare, and they never ended up doing so. Fast forward to the spring of 2026, they are back to reseed the lawns in our area as the final step in this project. They did not communicate that to anyone, they just showed up on 5/13/26 and started topping off areas of concern in yards with top soil. Our third car is parked on the street, and is blocking the area they need to address on our lawn. Given that my boyfriend and I have full time day jobs, we were unable to move the car, as we were both at work all day. Had we known they were coming, we would have moved our car off the street. As a result, they did not fully complete the work required in our yard secondary to this. I was not going to go so far as to include a review like this, but even after all of the meetings our PWD rep had with them, they continue to operate as if they are on a jobsite and not in a neighborhood where actual people live and work, and their communication is still severely lacking (it's non existent). Clear communication is an essential part of any project, especially when it is as extensive as this one was. It is a basic component of project management. It is incredibly frustrating that even after all of the communication and meetings PWD rep had with them that absolutely NOTHING has changed. This company does good work, however, the management is sub par and needs a lot of work (perhaps an overhaul, or maybe some education on how to work with the general public on a residential project?). Would not recommend for any project unless you enjoy being kept in the dark on expectations/work schedule and being woken up at 6:30am by construction workers outside your bedroom window hocking loogies and making a ton of noise before approved work hours. If you're up for that, then go ahead and hire them. But I would recommend looking elsewhere. Especially if it is a residential project. These guys treat neighborhoods like an offsite construction zone. Very much not appreciated. Put yourself in our shoes and take some accountability for your complete lack of professionalism and communication. I'm sure if we showed up at their homes at 6:30am, we would not be met with the kindest reception.
They haul un safe loads broke my windshield and would not go good for it and told me owell
they did a great job on time in the dead of winter..and stayed on price...great job.
Everyone recommended them and now we know why. They replaced our water main from the street to our house and it looks like they were never there. We had recenty paved our driveway and they ran the pipe under it without a blemish on it. They were very professional, on time, well with in our budget, and did an amazing job. I would definitely recommend.
