Kelly Brothers Excavation is a site-work contractor in Lisbon Falls. On Angi the company describes itself as a spin-off of ETTI (Enterprise Trenchless Technologies Inc). Its own website lists site preparation and grading, excavation and trenching, roadway and driveway building, drainage and stormwater management, septic installation and forestry mulching, and states 30 years in business. A recent customer, who wrote that the company is owned by a family member, described a project to remove an old fire pit and reuse its stone to outline a ravine leading down to a culvert. That customer said the job also included grading, loaming and seeding the disturbed areas, and digging out a washed-out culvert, refilling it and compacting it. At the culvert, the customer said, the crew took it upon themselves to build stone retaining walls on both sides using rocks from the old fire pit, and the cleanup was excellent. A recent customer said the company built their pond. A 2026 customer on Angi said the company cleared trees for their driveway, built the driveway and installed underground utilities, and that the job site was left clean.

I realize it may not be typical to write a recommendation for a company owned by a family member, but my experience with this crew is worth sharing. The scope of the project was to remove an old fire pit that had become an eyesore — oversized, overgrown with weeds, and no longer used. The plan was to repurpose the stone to outline a ravine leading down to a culvert I use to access other areas of my property. The project also included grading and loaming an area for a new flower garden with a bird feeder and bird bath, incorporating a couple of large rocks into the garden, and grading, loaming, and seeding the remaining disturbed areas. The final piece was digging out a washed-out culvert, refilling it, compacting it properly, and top-coating it with crushed stone from the old fire pit. Before the job began, I met with the company owner and the entire crew to explain what I was hoping to accomplish. What impressed me most was that they did not just hear the instructions — they understood the goal. At the culvert, the crew took it upon themselves to build stone retaining walls on both sides, using rocks from the old fire pit that were already on site. They built the walls flush with the outside edges of the culvert, which maximized the usable width and turned a simple repair into an attractive, functional finished project. They used the materials on site, improved on the original plan, and made the area look better than I had pictured. Their cleanup was excellent, and I appreciated the care they took with the property. They listened, used good judgment, and delivered a finished project that was both useful and great looking. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for excavation work done right.
