Add-It-Now Dormer Co, run out of Peabody by Tom and Ed Leonard, is a design-build outfit whose calling card is bigger structural work — second-story additions, dormers, and full room additions, not small repairs. The reviews describe genuinely complicated projects handled well: a 2025 review walks through converting a Cape's single bedroom into two via a full dormer, with the final bill matching the original quote even after the crew added unexpected square footage at no extra charge. A 2024 review describes a large addition — demolition, new framing, rooms, and roofing — where an architectural problem caused by a third party got redesigned quickly without derailing the schedule, and the new roofline matched so well it looked original to the house. A 2023 review describes two much bigger jobs for one customer: a full gut-and-reframe of a brownstone that involved moving three levels of stairs, and a 60%-larger addition on an 1802 historic home that preserved its original features. Not every contact went that way — a 2023 review describes over 90 minutes spent walking through a project and taking measurements in person, with no quote and no response to follow-up emails or calls afterward. The important thing to confirm before signing anything: the company's BBB profile currently carries an active 'out-of-business known or suspected' alert, which sits oddly next to a 5-star Google review from April 2026 describing a just-finished second-floor addition. BBB also lists the firm as established in 1963 and incorporated in 1986, while the company's own site says it has been in business 25 years — the two accounts of its history don't match. Given the size of the projects here, verify directly with Tom or Ed that the business is currently active before putting down a deposit. Best fit for a homeowner planning a real addition or dormer conversion, not a quick fix — but confirm the company's current status first.

Phenomenal work! I could not be more satisfied and pleased with my second floor addition Tom and Ed Leonard put on my house. One of the best prices around and a pleasure to work with. We changed a few things as we went along the way and Ed and his crew without hesitation made it happen. I’m looking forward to working with them again and have already had multiple people ask about their company. Before & After pictures attached. All done in record time just under 5 weeks, unheard of!
They are great workers and the work is of quality. I will recommend them to anyone.
I can't recommend these guys enough. Tom, Eddie and crew were incredible. This all started with Tom giving my wife and I a great visual of how to envision a full Dormer of a cape house where we split one bedroom into two. We could tell right off the bat that Tom had done this a million times. Tom and Eddie got this project done well ahead of schedule, and there was no nickel and diming at the end. The quote they gave, is the money they asked for at the end - even after they went above and beyond on minor and major things (they were able to get us a good amount of unexpected square footage, and didn't charge any extra) As other reviews mentioned, the crew was so great with our toddler, and two loud yapping dogs. Really great having them around, and I can't speak enough about the quality of work. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you'd like a reference or photos of how nice their full dormers look on a cape style house.
Add-It-Now Dormer recently completed a second story addition at our home (with dormers) and we could not be happier with the experience! Starting with the free consultation process all the way through the finish, they were extremely honest, professional and hard-working. They showed up everyday and got to work! Highly recommend for anyone looking to turn their home into their dream home!
The Add it now Dormer Company completed a large addition to our home; demo, new framing, rooms and roofing. At the very beginning we encountered an architectual problem, caused by a 3rd party. The AIND Co altered plans quickly and helped with a quick redesign on bedroom spacing and closets. The team showed up on their scheduled time every morning, handled everything professionally and kept a clean job site throughout the duration. The work came out great, roofing match was on point and the house looks as if it should have been done this way from the original build. The price and timeline were same at the beginning and then end of the month long project. As a bonus, they entertained the kids before the bus and played fetch with the dogs during lunch. Overall, a great group and great work.
