Advanced Electrical Service Co. is an owner-operated electrical contractor serving the Boston area, run by Dave Pike, who says he's built his reputation as an electrician over 32 years and has run the company itself for nearly 20 — a timeline one long-time customer corroborates, describing having Dave to their home many times over the last two decades. The company's Massachusetts electrician license is active and verified against the state registry, and it says it covers numerous towns across Eastern Massachusetts with 24-hour emergency service alongside routine residential and commercial work. The volume and consistency of the praise here is hard to overstate: 76 reviews since 2021, nearly all five stars, with eleven in just the past six months and zero negative. Reviewers describe Dave handling everything from quick emergency fixes — a Sunday-morning power outage corrected promptly — to substantial jobs: panel changeouts and expansions, whole-house rewiring, new dedicated circuits for AC units and home offices, recessed lighting and sconces through a major renovation, and wiring for a new hot tub. Several reviewers describe hiring him repeatedly over multiple projects and multiple years, citing fair, reasonable pricing alongside the quality of the work. What comes through across dozens of accounts is a pattern rather than a one-off good experience: reviewers consistently mention Dave showing up when he says he will, explaining the problem in plain terms before starting, and being straightforward about what a job actually needs — including, in one case, being upfront that a proposed project wasn't worth pursuing rather than taking the work anyway. There's no substantive complaint anywhere in the record to weigh against that. Advanced Electrical looks like a strong, low-risk choice for anything electrical, from a same-day repair to a full panel and rewiring job during a larger renovation — the kind of contractor homeowners keep calling back for smaller work once a bigger job goes well. With this much consistent, recent, first-hand testimony, there isn't much left to ask about beyond your own project's scope and timing.
Had a power outage for just my home. Called on Sunday morning and they were able to correct the issue promptly.
Dave responds fast and got the job done right away. Excellent work at a great price.
Dave is highly competent electrician, very reasonably priced, prompt, returns calls and overall pleasure to work with.
Great service all around. Troubleshooting the situation successfully. I highly recommend this electrician.
Dave completed a project for me today that included changing out and expanding the panel, replacing all plugs and switches, adding dedicated circuits for an AC unit and a gaming computer and adding new power to a number of spots in the basement. It was obvious that he is very knowledgeable and is committed to doing excellent work. He is also very dependable, always arrives on time and is friendly and pleasant to deal with - which is a big plus. I will definitely work with him again if I have additional electrical projects and recommend him highly.
