In May 2026, a customer who thought they needed a new well said Affordable Well came out that day, troubleshot the system and found it was only the pump. An October 2026 reviewer whose well pump died said they were helped in a pinch. In a February 2026 review, a new homeowner who called to have their well shocked said the guy on the phone talked them through doing it themselves and saved them about $500. The Sabattus company says it has done drilling and pump work since 1997, lists Sabattus, Cumberland, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Waldo, Franklin and Somerset as its service area, and holds 4.5 stars from 78 Google ratings. In a May 2025 review, a customer who had collected proposals from four well companies said Affordable Well replaced their well pump and water tank, showed up on time and finished the install quickly; when the tank turned out to interfere with a staircase, the company came back within a few days and "very happily moved the tank to its proper location." That reviewer named Scott, Heather and Rosie as pleasant to deal with and said the price was one of the lower of the proposals. In a November 2024 review of a new well for an ADU, a technician named Austin crawled into an 18-inch crawlspace to hook up the pipes and explained each step to the reviewer. A December 2022 reviewer with no water on a Monday said the company came two days later and replaced a well pump at 400-plus feet, with new wiring, within three hours. A December 2025 three-star reviewer said that on their second well, after hydrofracking, the company stopped answering phone calls, leaving messages about scheduling a flow test and getting the pump installed unreturned. A December 2024 reviewer said the people doing the actual work were good but the office staff never followed through or called back despite multiple messages. In April 2023, a customer who had signed a contract and paid $350 to have snow moved said the company did not show when it said it would and there had been no calls or emails for over a month. On Reddit in June 2025, a commenter said the company caused a slow leak when replacing their well pressure tank and that a return visit left it worse.
“Affordable Well Drilling DID replace the well pressure tank. The leak showed up like 6 hours after they left, and was hella noticeable as being constant slow leak shortly after.”
“If it's your well, don't go through Affordable Well Drilling. They caused a slow leak when replacing the well, came back, "fixed" the leak (they did not fix it even a little, it was actually worse after them trying the fix), and tried to invoice me for not being able to fix their own work.”
“Affordable Well Drilling out of Sabbatus.”
Well pump died needed help in a pinch. Super nice people who do amazing work. 10/10 would use again
I had an issue with my water pressure, and I thought I needed a new well! Affordable well came out that day and troubleshooted my system. It was only the pump! Thank you Affordable Well, for your affordable pump and for your prompt and professional service!
Affordable Well prioritized those of us struggling with dry wells. It is impressive that they care about taking care of the people based on the needs of people rather than prioritizing by the most money they can get. We now have a fantastic well and were impressed by the level of care we received, especially at the final connection day; from coordinating with our excavator and electrician to immediately addressing the one concern we had when it was done.
Called them to shock my well, guy on the phone told me to do it myself and talked me right through it, he was extremely helpful and saved me about 500 bucks. Couldn't be happier with their services, refreshing to see good people helping out the community instead of taking advantage of a new homeowner :)
We've done 1.9 wells with Affordable Well Drilling. Yes, 1.9 - our first well went fairly smoothly, though it required hydrofracking to get it into a good spot. Our second well on a neighboring property went about the same as the first, but after hydrofracking the company stopped answering phone calls. I've left multiple messages to schedule a flow test so we can complete the job and ensure the yield is there (not sure why this wasn't a part of the hydrofrack, but I digress) and get the pump installed. Thankfully this is for a new construction that doesn't have a rushed timeline. Calling around to other companies to get this done, but would rather have stayed with 1 company for the whole job. Why is it so hard to return calls, Affordable? Bring your office administrator back! Giving 3 stars average (1.5 stars for current experience, 4.5 stars for prior)
