In the most recent review on file, from April 2026, a customer whose two large porches he rebuilt called Edian Langa a professional who hit his start and finish dates almost to the day. Big deck and porch rebuilds are what keep showing up in his reviews — customers describe him excavating and re-pouring footings under a 125-year-old triple-decker before framing new porches on top — and Angi shows 113 ratings for the business, 98% of them five stars, with project photos including a full triple-decker porch rebuild and a screened porch priced between $50,000 and $57,000. The company is a one-person, Jamaica Plain-based general contracting business covering kitchen, bathroom, basement and attic remodeling along with decks, porches, siding, windows, gutters and roofing. It gives different accounts of how long it has been around: the Better Business Bureau and Angi both trace it to the late 1990s and describe about three decades in business, while its Houzz page instead says the owner has 'over 12 years of experience.' Reviewers from 2022 through 2026 describe Langa doing detailed carpentry himself. In a 2024 review, a customer credited him with replacing two large windows and finishing the interior carpentry to a high standard; another 2024 reviewer said he installed Timbertech railings and Azek post sleeves on new stair railings; and a 2023 reviewer who called themselves extremely particular about tile still came away happy with a large-format tile job run to the ceiling. A 2024 reviewer said he fixed a chronic gutter problem that had defeated several previous contractors. The Better Business Bureau gives the business an A+ grade — while stating plainly that it is not BBB-accredited — but lists no licence, registration or bond number and tells homeowners to check with the state directly; Massachusetts generally requires a Home Improvement Contractor registration for this kind of work. Separately, a 2016 BuildZoom review described a $10,000 deck and basement job where the contractor became unreachable and did not follow through on the agreement — a single complaint that predates the run of Angi reviews above by six years, on a different platform. Alexis Home Remodeling is a fit for a homeowner who wants one contractor personally handling detail-heavy carpentry, decks and porches; before booking, ask for the current registration number directly and get the schedule and scope in writing.
Exceptional! Edian is a true professional who is a man of his word, with meticulous attention to detail and as close to exactly o. Time with burn job start & completion as I've ever experienced. I've had him rebuild 2 massive porches. His work far far exceeded my expectations. In pic, he re-built the 1st floor porch, re-supported the sunroom, excavated the 125 year old footings, then re-poured new footings. Exceptional structural work, far above 'code' for a super solid result. Then, to my design, added new, Victorian details that make it sing!
Edison and his two staff did a great job move and install my Titan message chair to my living room from first floor. Highly recommended!
Ed is great to work with. This is the second job we've hired him for. We wouldn't work with anyone else.
! EXCEPTIONAL ! Starting with great listening to the attention to details that I was most excited about, to Edian's / Alexis superior preparation & commitment to on time start & completion, Edian's professionalism yielded 2 huge projects that are an absolute joy to behold. Edian's extraordinary attention to details is so far beyond my expectations, that he actually improved upon my architect / engineer's structural design. I will admit that I expect much much more than most & Edian truly exceeded my standard of 'triple redundancy' when it comes to structural strength, safety & my '100 year goal' for major 'capital' level projects. His work is so above and beyond, that several tradespeople have commented on the extraordinary level of workmanship! I have had the pleasure of working with Edian on 2 huge reconstructions of porches. For both, he scheduled well in advance and then he & crew showed up a few days early, completing these massive projects on time. Yes, you read that correctly, ON TIME. He & his crew have an exceptional 'culture!' They were here everyday, without exception, always cheerful & laser focused on their dedication to getting the job done according to Edian's strict codes of on time progress. I wish I had space to say more! In short, I cannot wait until I have more work for Edian / Alexis!
Edian contacted me and after reviewing the photos that I sent. We discussed options and date to complete the work. While performing the work, he checked with me a number of times showing me variations to make sure I would be happy and it would meet my expectations. Before he left, he advised me of the importance of sealing the wood. Edian left additional wood so that I could apply different stains to make sure it would match my cabinets.
