The second is that several of them are unmistakably somebody's real afternoon. ALP Home Services is Allan Petrocelli's Malden company. Two things to settle before hiring. The Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration the site prints, #218250, is the company's own statement rather than something confirmed against the state registry, and Thumbtack's "license verified" badge publishes no number at all — so look the registration up yourself with the state's Office of Consumer Affairs before signing anything. And read that same-day cluster for what it is: the dated, detailed accounts around it are the ones that tell you how the work actually goes.
For small and mid-sized jobs — a railing, interior painting, a tile floor, baseboards and trim — this is a young, owner-run outfit whose specific reviewers keep describing the same two things: a clear price stated up front and a clean job site afterwards. Get the scope and the number in writing, check the registration with the state, and ask Allan for a recent job near you that you can look at.
