Twelve reviews landed on one day — 23 February 2026 — and each names a different town straight off the company's own service-area list: Concord, Milton, Winchester, Weston, Natick, Dedham, Needham, Arlington, Cambridge. That is the first thing to know about ALP Home Services' run of five-star reviews. The second is that several of them are unmistakably somebody's real afternoon. In April 2026 a homeowner described helping a neighbour whose front-stairs railing was crushed by a falling tree limb: they got quotes from a few companies, chose ALP, and wrote that Allan said exactly what would be done and what it would cost at the first meeting. Another April customer had a rusted wrought-iron railing replaced in a single afternoon, at a price quoted up front and worked around their schedule. In June someone had an old doorway re-trimmed where it was rotting out — done quickly, they said, and at a reasonable price. A February customer listed the actual job: woodwork, door replacements, flooring and carpeting, interior painting, all priced transparently. ALP Home Services is Allan Petrocelli's Malden company. He puts the range at welding repair and fabrication, tile, flooring, residential painting and finish carpentry across Middlesex and Suffolk counties, and the reviews track that order — painting most often, then railings and metalwork, then trim, baseboards and tile. Thumbtack lists the business at one year old with one employee, and its own three reviews there date to December 2025. Two things to settle before hiring. The Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration the site prints, #218250, is the company's own statement rather than something confirmed against the state registry, and Thumbtack's "license verified" badge publishes no number at all — so look the registration up yourself with the state's Office of Consumer Affairs before signing anything. And read that same-day cluster for what it is: the dated, detailed accounts around it are the ones that tell you how the work actually goes. For small and mid-sized jobs — a railing, interior painting, a tile floor, baseboards and trim — this is a young, owner-run outfit whose specific reviewers keep describing the same two things: a clear price stated up front and a clean job site afterwards. Get the scope and the number in writing, check the registration with the state, and ask Allan for a recent job near you that you can look at.

ALP helped re-trim an old doorway that was rotting out. They did the work professionally, quickly, and at a reasonable price. I will call them again for future jobs!
