Thirty-four reviews across five years, and the man's first name is in almost every one of them. America's Best Choice Home Inspections is Marc Parella's shop, run out of Wakefield; the company says it has been at this since 1994, that it is family owned, and that it inspects for buyers across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. The thing customers keep describing is time — his, spent on their house. Buyers this summer write about being walked through the property with the findings explained as he goes, and about reports that come back detailed and photo-heavy. One first-time buyer in June wrote that they kept asking questions and he gladly answered every one, then sent a report with pictures they expect to keep referring to. Speed is the other recurring note. A May buyer said the turnaround was the standout part of the job; in a February 2025 review a buyer on a tight contract deadline got the written report the same day, and a November 2025 customer had theirs the next morning after booking a few days out. He reads as the right call for an older house. In an April review, a buyer called him an experienced professional with real knowledge of older homes after a thorough inspection of one. That matches a 2022 review from a couple in Jamaica Plain who used him twice, five and a half years apart, and a 2023 buyer who described more than two hours walking through every corner of the house with the improvements ranked in priority order. Two things are worth knowing. Some of the warmest reviews come from inside the trade — a realtor writing in January 2026 says she recommends him to all her buyers, and a 2022 reviewer describes fourteen years of referring clients to him — which is a real signal about consistency but not the same as an ordinary customer's account. And the credentials are the company's own: its site calls it a licensed home inspection company without printing a number, and the "since 1994" history is its own claim, with the written record running only from 2021. The Massachusetts home inspector register is public, so confirm the licence before you book. Best suited to a buyer who wants to follow the inspector through the house — particularly an older one — and get a report they can hand a contractor. Confirm the licence, confirm he covers your town given the three-state area the company advertises, and pin down the report turnaround you're promised.
