Anderson & Sons Construction LLC

Anderson & Sons Construction is a Melrose, Massachusetts general contractor run by Thomas Anderson that keeps turning up by name in Boston-area Reddit threads — recommended not just by homeowners but by other tradespeople who've worked alongside him. In a December 2025 r/medfordma post, a commenter said Tom Anderson 'does really great, higher end work, and is usually booked out several months.' A plumbing and heating contractor wrote in November 2025 that he'd worked extensively with Anderson on renovation projects and had hired him for work on his own home, pointing to Anderson's focus on structural work in older homes. A Somerville plumber said in an October 2025 post that Anderson & Sons and Woodcat Construction both do 'fantastic high end remodeling work,' and an earlier April 2025 post in the same subreddit put it simply: 'Anderson and Sons does great work in the area.' Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (#184450) is active, and BuildZoom's permit records show 15 projects, mostly Somerville renovations — kitchens, bathrooms, framing and structural repairs, and porches — which lines up with what the Reddit recommendations describe. BuildZoom also gives the company a permit-based score of 90. This is a strong call for structural or renovation work in an older home, especially given how often other tradespeople point homeowners his way. Ask about current scheduling, since more than one recommendation mentions he books out months in advance.
