Andrew Plumbing and Heating is the kind of shortlist entry where the person quoting the job is the person doing it. Andrew Ortega runs this Lawrence outfit himself, the BBB record lists exactly one employee, and the company says it has been family-run since 2015 — eleven years by its own count. The niche is specific enough to matter. Oil-to-gas heating conversions are the headline, alongside boiler systems, tankless water heaters and high-efficiency hydronic radiant heat, with full-service residential and light-commercial plumbing, drain cleaning and 24-hour emergency work filling in around them. Bathroom and kitchen jobs appear too, though as the plumbing and gas side of a remodel rather than a whole-room renovation. Sixteen reviews spanning 2024 to 2026 keep landing on the things homeowners actually care about: honest quotes given before the work starts, showing up when promised, and leaving the house clean. The most recent one is short and to the point — fast, fairly priced, good people skills. Its BBB page carries an A+ grade, although the business has not sought BBB accreditation. Two things deserve a look before you call. Google's average sits at 4.6 across 21 ratings, which is below every written review on the page — some star-only ratings are pulling it down and nobody said why. And the pace has slowed: one review has arrived in the last six months, so the current read rests on history rather than a run of fresh jobs. The addresses also differ, with the BBB record showing 49 Blanchard St and the company's own site 250 Canal St, both in Lawrence. For a Merrimack Valley homeowner facing an oil-to-gas switch, a failing boiler or a tankless install, this is a specialist with more than a decade behind the name and customers who keep going back to the same owner. A one-person shop books up, so raise timing early, get the scope and price in writing — reviewers say he offers that willingly — and confirm directly what he is licensed to work on in Massachusetts before anything starts.

After calling multiple plumbers and getting g numerous quotes. I finally found Andrew’s plumbing and heating, he was honest up front and gave me the information I was looking for before he even did the job. His work was absolutely outstanding and done faster they I thought. Andrew left my home like he was never even there. Not one thing was left from start to finish I was impressed his knowledge of plumbing and heating is extensive. I can honestly say I won’t call around ever again Andrew’s plumbing is a one stop shop for anything plumbing or heating related 5 star service start to finish.
