Appalachian Animal Control is a Hudson, New Hampshire wildlife-control outfit that says it specialises in humane bat removal and exclusion, along with squirrels, raccoons, skunks and rodents for homes and farms; it states plainly that it does not handle domestic pets. Its stated coverage runs from Hudson and Nashua up through Manchester, Concord, Gilford and Keene. Google shows a 5-star average from 17 ratings. The reviews are about one man — customers call him Larry, sometimes Lawrence — and the thing they describe over and over is how fast he turns up. A homeowner with a bat in the gas fireplace said he answered the message within minutes and was at the house shortly after. Another said he met them at the property within 45 minutes of the call, set two have-a-heart traps for a groundhog, and had it caught and removed inside two days. The trapping work is consistently described as humane and followed through. A skunk under a shed was caught and relocated; seven baby skunks were captured and released; a mother raccoon and her baby living in a shed were caught within a few days and relocated together. Several reviewers note that he came back every day to check and adjust the traps and called before each next step. He is also hired for exclusion rather than just removal. One reviewer whose raccoon came out of the attic said he assessed the house and recommended repairs to close off entry points. The most detailed account on file runs six weeks: twice-weekly trap inspections, two cleanups of a basement drop ceiling, and a full exclusion around the lower section of the house — and it opens with him calling the mouse problem minor and offering DIY tips before being hired anyway. What is worth knowing is how new the public record is: every review on file dates from 2026, so there is no multi-year history to check yet, and no larger job — a whole-house bat exclusion, say — appears in the record at a price. Ask what the exclusion work costs and what happens if the animal returns.
Highly recommend Appalachian Pest Control! We called about a mice problem, and Larry came out the very same day. He inspected the property and was honest enough to label it a "minor" issue, even giving us DIY tips to save money. We preferred a professional, so we hired him, and we were impressed with his service. Larry is easy to work with and personable. Over the six weeks, he came out twice a week to inspect traps, completed two cleanups of our basement drop ceiling, and performed a full exclusion around the lower section of our house. He gives plenty of notice for scheduling and always shows up right on time. He even gave us a two-year guarantee and offered to drop by whenever we want the traps checked.
Larry was very professional. He is trustworthy
Very responsive and dependable. Once the traps were installed that same night a giant woodchuck was captured in our garage by our cameras. We were very grateful we found this company/ service and Lawrence has been great to work with. If you’re dealing with an unknown creature in your home and don’t know what to do let the experts from Appalachian Animal Control handle it.
Poor little bat made its way into our gas fireplace. Larry responded within minutes to my message and was able to come to the house quickly! He was professional, courteous, clear with information and got right to business. I also appreciate how humanely he treated the bat.
Larry responded to my request in a timely manner and was able to come to my house the same day to set traps. He successfully caught the skunk under my shed and relocated it without issue. He was professional and courteous. Highly recommend.
