The name that keeps coming up in Aqua Design's reviews isn't the company's — it's Dave. Across 20 Google ratings averaging 5.0, review after review describes the owner showing up himself, measuring, explaining, and staying on a job until it's right. The company, based on Riverside Avenue in Somerset, says it has been at pools and hardscapes for 21 years, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. The work people hire them for splits two ways: pools first — liner replacements above all, plus installations, openings, heaters and repairs — and the stonework around them. This June a reviewer described a leaking 25-year-old pool waterfall that Dave's crew disassembled, refinished basin by basin, and rebuilt, keeping the area clean the whole way. Another had a liner replaced this spring and the pool opened for the first time in over two years. In a September 2025 review, a couple described a full in-ground pool build they had planned for years, with Dave answering questions throughout. Two older accounts say something about how the shop operates. In a 2024 review, a customer whose pool heater install required trenching for wiring said the lawn looked better afterward than before — and that Dave flagged a billing discrepancy in his own favor and credited it unprompted. Another 2024 reviewer had coping removed and reattached, patio pavers realigned, tiles replaced and a hot tub leak fixed in one project. There isn't a negative review on file — the record runs 2024 to now, all five stars, much of it detailed. If you're calling, it's the right fit for liner work, pool installs and openings, and the masonry that surrounds a pool: patios, coping, retaining walls. Get the scope and quote in writing as with any project of this size, and expect Dave on the other end of the phone.
