Arco Homes (Arco LLC) is a Newton design-build firm run by co-founders Luis DiazGranados and Carolina Trujillo de DiazGranados, working on custom ground-up homes, large renovations, and historic preservation projects across towns from Cambridge to Wellesley to Nantucket. The firm's own site says it has been designing and building for almost two decades, and its written review record — a set of 25 Google reviews — runs from 2022 through 2023. What repeat clients point to is the integrated design-build structure: the same firm draws the plans and builds them, which several reviewers singled out as unusual and valuable. One 2023 review from a repeat client described hiring Arco twice — once to remodel a downtown Boston office, once for a Brookline home remodel meant for resale — and being satisfied with the design and construction both times. Another 2023 review described Luis personally designing and building a house from a client's wish list. There's one clear exception to the otherwise glowing record: a 2022 review accused the company of withholding payment from someone who had done work for them and threatening government-agency action if they didn't comply, calling the business a "non-do business" and refusing to recommend it. That account stands apart from the client-side reviews describing finished-home experiences — it reads as a dispute with someone Arco owed money to, rather than a customer complaint about the work itself. Before calling, it's worth knowing this is a small, high-end operation — its Houzz profile shows just one listed project — and that the review history, while strongly positive, hasn't been refreshed since 2023.
