Arthur Construction was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. John’s work was top quality, and the results show the pride and care he takes in it. Jen was in constant communication and was always available to answer questions when we had them, providing helpful advice and insight. Most importantly, John always showed up when he said he would (often early) and worked in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. We would absolutely recommend them to others, and they will be our first call for future projects. We originally reached out to them to assess an issue with our home’s main carrying beam. They replied very quickly, and John was able to come out to our home the next day. John assessed the situation and took detailed notes about everything. He was very knowledgeable and personal, breaking down his findings is an easy-to-understand manner. We then heard from Jen later that day, who promised to provide an estimate within a week’s time. As would become the norm, Jen overdelivered, providing the initial estimate within 48 hours. Their plan addressed all of issues with the beam, and the cost was fair and clearly broken out. When the project began, our building inspector required hiring a structural engineer to produce stamped design plans for the project. John & Jen helped us navigate this entire process and provided the names of trusted engineers we could hire or subcontract. They worked hand in hand with the engineer to make sure he had all the necessary details and produced exactly what we needed. With plans in hand and permits issued (which they handled getting as well), John quickly began the work. As noted, John showed up often (and when he said he would) and early, working diligently on the project. The work moved along and passed all milestone inspections along the way. During the project, we added having our basement stairs repaired and a handrail installed on a separate staircase to the project list. John’s work on the basement stairs was top quality and the handrail was a welcome safety addition. The finished beam work passed final inspection and John left the entire work area clean. It was such a relief to know the beam was fixed, stronger, and wouldn’t be a problem going forward. As noted, Jen kept in close contact throughout the entirety of the project and made sure we were satisfied with the finished products afterwards. It’s rare to find a contractor who does great work, communicates well & often, does timely & efficient work, and (most important with contractors) shows up when expected. But Arthur Construction checks all those boxes and then some. Thank you again for your help and exceptional work.

Amazing communication

John did a fantastic job redoing the support underneath our floors. He was very friendly and clean. John first started by examining what needed to be done and came up with a plan for fully supporting our floors in a manner that will last decades. He put in three permanent posts and sistered all the joists. We plan on going back to John for any carpentry needs.
