Atlantic Weatherization LLC is a Salem-based insulation and weatherization contractor that also does roofing and window replacement work, much of it through the Mass Save program. The company, run by Eric Palm, says it's been operating since 1994. Its core work — attic and basement air sealing, blown cellulose insulation — gets specific, repeated praise. A late-2025 review described a Mass Save insulation crew that was "attentive and easy to communicate with," with a noticeable difference in the house afterward; a spring-2026 review described a Mass-Save-funded basement window job as "fast, efficient," with everything explained along the way. A 2025 review singled out a crew member, Brian, for hard work and steady communication. In a 2017 BuildZoom review, a homeowner described a dense-pack wall insulation job — holes drilled around the house and plugged with wood, done in two days — that noticeably warmed up a drafty home. The record also carries a recurring complaint worth knowing about: leftover nails and debris. A June 2026 review described a roof replacement that left "hundreds of nails" across the lawn, gutters, and driveway, still being found a week later; a 2022 review made a similar complaint in different words — good workmanship, but mulch and yard debris left behind that the homeowner had to clean up themselves. A separate February 2026 review said calls went unanswered after a reported roof leak, and a 2023 review described a crew that started at 7am, was extremely loud, and laughed off noise complaints. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. BuildZoom separately lists an active Construction Supervisor license for Eric Palm personally — a normal, separate license from the company's registration, not a discrepancy. A 2015 violation-tracking record shows a $9,240 penalty for a workplace safety violation; it's old, and there's nothing more recent on file. A good call for a Mass-Save-backed insulation job, where the reviews are consistently strong — but if the scope includes roofing, ask directly about jobsite cleanup and get it in writing.
“If I could give them 10 stars I would!”
Atlantic Weatherization recently replaced our roof on our home. They did a fair job on the roof but left a lot of nails on the lawn, shrub beds, walkways and in the gutters. They left a few nails on the driveway as well. They damaged our screen door but did return the following week to repair it after we complained. What's infuriating is that we had to go out and purchase magnetic sweepers and spend days picking up the nails they left all over our yard! The pictures show the hundreds of nails we had to pickup! We're still finding nails to this day, a week after they left! They also damaged two of our heat pumps! We would not hire them again to shingle a dog house!
I had windows in my basement replaced by Atlantic. Although they were contracted through the Mass Save program and I didn’t have any out of pocket costs thru that program but they did great work. Fast efficient, they explained everything to me and I’m so happy with the windows. I will be calling them to replace my other windows that I need to replace.
Bought a home, roof was done 1 year ago by this company. They ignored our calls after a leak.
If I could give them 10 stars I would! The team is currently working on my mom’s house, thanks to Capic and MassSave. She is always raving about how amazing the team is! My mom is a “clean freak” and she’s so appreciative of how clean they leave the job site. It’s like they weren’t even there! Her landlord is very happy and appreciative of their work, professionalism and cleanness. When im ready, i will be calling them to work on my home too!
We got our house insulated through mass save and this was the company assigned to us. They did a great job and everyone on the crew was very attentive and easy to communicate with. We can tell a huge difference in our house after they completed the job too.
