Auguste Noel is a Norwood-based electrician who has run his own practice for 18 years, according to his BBB profile, which rates him A+ though he is not a BBB-accredited business. BuildZoom, which tracks permit records, credits him with 101 permitted electrical projects and says it has verified his Massachusetts electrician license (#21226) as active. The reviews on file, all from 2020 to 2023, describe careful, reliable work. One customer whose 1856 house still had wiring dating to Thomas Edison's era says Auguste rewired the entire home over six years of visits, with every job coming out well. Others describe him calling ahead to confirm appointments, showing up exactly when promised, and taking care to place a chandelier and recessed lighting exactly where asked. One thing worth knowing: BuildZoom's compiled record of Massachusetts licenses also lists three other contractor registrations tied to the same profile — two home improvement contractor registrations and one construction supervisor license — all shown as cancelled or inactive at some point, drawn from Mass.gov and Department of Public Safety records. Separately, a 2023 review describes a good initial installation followed by unreturned calls when a problem came up afterward. The written record here is dated — nothing on file is newer than 2023 — so it's worth asking directly about recent work and how he handles follow-up calls if an issue comes up after a job. For straightforward electrical work like fixture installs, panel upgrades or rewiring an older home, the reviews on file describe him as thorough and dependable when everything goes as planned.
He did a good job however I was having a problem with the install. I called him several times and he did not respond to my calls. Not sure why???
August installed a chandelier and moved some recessed lighting around for me. He was very thorough in making sure the placement of the chandelier was exactly where I wanted it. He was very reliable. He showed up exactly when he promised he would. I was very pleased with the overall experience.
Auguste Noel is an outstanding electrician. He has worked on my home various times over the past six years and every job was excellent. The house was built in 1856 and some of the wiring was put in by Edison when he was an apprentice. Auguste has rewired the entire house and brought it up to code. He is a very good person to work with. He explains what he needs to do, he always shows up on time and he is unfailingly polite. He could moonlight as a teacher in a charm school. If Auguste makes suggestions about lighting, you should listen carefully as he also has expertise in lighting design. He is a perfectionist and I would hire him for any kind of electrical work.
Quick, professional, strong customer service. He called me right away, called just prior to the appointment to confirm and let me know he was on his way. I will definitely keep his contact information to use him again. Of all the electricians I've had, he's the keeper.
Auguste is a great professional, friendly, and knowledgeable person. I will definitely use his service for my next electrical project.
