External reporting also identifies the firm on local residential and commercial projects, including an Inman Square restaurant renovation and a Brighton basement transformation. Before booking, confirm the current project scope, schedule, and license details because the review record is dated. We're loving the new kitchen and dining room! From initial project scoping and estimate to the final punch list and walkthrough, we couldn't be more pleased. Rob was our point person throughout the project. The weekly project meetings and consistent communication ensured alignment throughout, and resulted in a finished product that we really enjoy. Our project included a gut renovation of the kitchen and dining room, a small expansion of the kitchen, and re-siding the back exterior of our home with Hardie board siding. We're big fans of their work, and look forward to partnering with them again in the future.
We hired Bailey Davol Studio Build for a significant attic renovation and were delighted with the results. The quality of the work is excellent, the team is super creative, and Rob and Tim are excellent problem solvers when you encounter the inevitable snag in the process. I recommend very highly.
Tim Bailey and Rob Davol are great, we loved working with them! We mostly worked with Rob for this project, which was a gut renovation of our kitchen and pantry. Communication was always easy, from setting up an initial site visit through final signoff at the end, and everything in between. They were open to all our design input, while also bringing many design ideas of their own. They were also super knowledgeable -- from geeking out about the historical details of the finish carpentry in our building, to answering our questions about how to acquire reclaimed lumber for shelves ("we have a pile in our shop") or how concrete countertops work ("call Stone Soup Concrete"). The quality of their craftsmanship was top-notch. For several weeks straight Rob and Jamie were both here working carpentry magic. I can't overemphasize just how awkward this space is to work in -- it's a 100-year old building; no floor or ceiling is level, no wall plumb, no door frame square; awkward corners everywhere you turn. In addition to setting our kitchen walls and ceiling to rights (we kept the unlevel floor), they: fabricated and installed custom floating shelves; installed and modified cabinets; rebuilt several door and window casings to match the rest of the apartment (and seamlessly integrate with the countertops); and completely hid the ductwork for the vent hood in the cabinets and ceiling. I can't count the number of times when in the morning Rob would be like "don't worry, I have a plan for this", and then at the end of the day I'd be like "I... didn't know that was even possible!" All of their subcontractors were also superb, especially their electrician (Peg Preble, who we adore) and their plumber (Eric Baldi, who we also adore). Everyone always felt like respectful guests in our home, and always kept the job site tidy (and always kept dust from getting in the rest of the house, as best as they were able!) Cost-wise, they did a good job keeping to their original estimate; there were a couple relatively small additional costs at times due to increased scope of work, though these were always well justified, and clearly communicated. They also did a good job of keeping to the work schedule -- they got permits promptly, and started work the day they said they would. There was some inevitable slowdown while we waited for our countertops to be fabricated, but once that was done they were promptly back at it. We're very happy with our new kitchen! Would definitely work with them again without hesitation.
I have worked with Bailey Davol Studio in three separate projects over the past three years. First at a condo, now in my new ( Victorian) house. ONe roof, one room ceiling, and one built in bookshelf (two entire walls) later... All together I estimate I have spent around 25,000$. I will hire NO ONE ELSE. They are the most professional company I know of, expert craftmen, reliable, knowledgeble, punctual, clean, polite and attentive to detail. I have recommended them to friends and coworkers, with the same results. I trust them and respect them, and feel lucky I found them.
We are so pleased with our kitchen renovation by Studio Build. They knew exactly what aesthetic we wanted, offering creative solutions to all of the little snags that accompany renovation of a kitchen in a 100-year-old, multi-unit building. Tim & Rob patiently met with me many times to finalize ideas for the overall look, understanding when we couldn't manage the larger ideas we initially tossed around. They shared ideas for local vendors and resources as I made design decisions. Their team was full of happy, helpful, skilled folks, which, for me, minimized the day-to-day stress of renovation. We adore our kitchen, and would repeat the experience again in a heartbeat.
