The company describes itself on its website as offering tree removal, pruning and maintenance across Westport, Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk and the rest of Fairfield County for over 35 years. A 2022 customer said he removed a large number of trees for them without price gouging. A 2024 customer said their family had worked with Bert for over 7 years and called him honest, fair and knowledgeable. The business has also been in the news. A westportjournal.com page reports that Robert Porzio, owner of Bert's Tree Service, was sentenced at U.S. District Court in Bridgeport. A ctinsider.com page describes Bert's Tree Service as no stranger to the court system. Does not follow laws."
“Robert Porzio, 48, owner of Bert’s Tree Service, was sentenced Monday by Judge Stefan Underhill at U.S. District Court in Bridgeport, according to a statement from Leonard Boyle, the U.S. attorney for Connecticut.”

“FAIRFIELD — The Porzio’s Bert’s Tree Service is no stranger to the court system.”
“Porzio, who operates Bert’s Tree Service, Inc., deposited numerous customers’ checks into personal bank accounts, transferred a significant portion of the funds into a personal investment account, and kept from the corporation’s bookkeeper his receipt of the additional payments.”
Bert's Tree Service provided us with excellent hardwoods for firewood. The wood was delivered and stacked very efficiently and professionally by Bert's team. A full 4 cord as promised, maybe even a little bit over 4 cord. Bert has also done very challenging and difficult tree removals for us in the past. Again, a professional and experience crew got the job done with no issues and a fine clean-up to boot. We highly recommend Bert's Tree Service.
I have worked with Bert several times, and he is absolutely wonderful to work with on-site. He is incredibly hardworking and always extremely mindful of each project. Bert never rushes and his top priority is doing things the right way, with great care and attention to detail. His deep knowledge of trees and landscaping is impressive, and his suggestions always enhance the natural beauty of the environment, never forcing anything to look unnatural or overdone. I truly appreciate his thoughtful approach and expertise. I highly recommend Bert and would give him 10 stars if I could. Thank you, Bert, for consistently doing such an outstanding job!
His logging truck is constantly speeding around town I guess eager to get to his next deforesting project His location in the post road is an unsightly hazard as is his meeker house It would be nice if he had more respect for his neighbors in town
Bert is the most knowledgeable Arborist i have ever encountered. He is also one of the nicest people ive ever met. This guy goes way above the call of duty. Hand down one of the best in the entire business. I wish i could give 10 stars!
My family and I have worked with Bert for over 7 years and have found him to be extremely honest, fair, and knowledgeable. In an area where there are all too many "tree guys" who know next to nothing about tree work, just looking to make a quick dollar, Bert stands out as a true professional arborist who takes pride in his work, in his company, and in caring for his clients. Highly recommended.
