Bite Back does one thing — bed bugs — and does it with heat instead of chemicals, a distinction the Somerville-based company (self-reported in business since 2011) leads with on its own site and that shows up in how reviewers describe it. The clearest signal across its small but consistent review history is a kind of honesty that costs the company money: in a 2022 review, a customer described Bite Back turning down a job because their process wouldn't actually solve that customer's problem, explaining why in detail and pointing them to a different service instead. A more recent 2026 review tells a similar story — a building manager found what looked like bed bug evidence years after an initial treatment, sent photos, and was told it was old carpet beetle casings rather than a new infestation, with no charge for the call. Other reviews, spanning 2021 through this year, describe the owner (Miles) as responsive, patient with anxious customers, and thorough about checking adjacent units in multi-unit buildings — recurring themes for a business that says it has treated hundreds of homes across Somerville, Cambridge, Boston, and Medford. There's no negative review on file to weigh against that record. For anyone dealing with a suspected bed bug problem, or unsure if it even is one, this looks like a company worth calling before assuming the worst.

Back in 2022, I was involved in organizing a check for all the units of our building both with Bite Back and with a dog sniffing company. What bugs we found, Bite Back treated. Cut to this week. I found shell casing and (what I thought were) fecal droppings, and after a quick anxiety attack, I called Bite Back up and sent some photos. He identified the casings as old carpet beetle casings, not bed bugs, and helped me identify the droppings. Then he walked me through what I should keep an eye out for in the coming weeks just to be sure. Effectively, he calmed me down. Since he didn't charge me anything for this frantic phone call, I figured I'd thank him by finally getting around to writing a review for 3 years ago. Our building never had a reoccurrence from that infestation, and he'd stood out in the cold with me for nearly an hour answering all my questions.
Miles is an exceptionally helpful, kind, and professional individual and was incredibly easy to communicate and work with. He made the process as painless as possible and was also very fun to chat with.
After several people who came out to figure out if I have bedbugs, I found Miles of Bite Back, who was by far the most knowledgeable of everyone I've spoken with. Bite Back only does bedbugs, which is reassuring. He is honest and candid. I have been a total wreck, and he helped alleviate a lot of my anxiety. We're 98% sure I don't have bedbugs, but in the outside chance that I do, I feel confident that Miles will take care of it! That's a good feeling! He's also very compassionate. I highly recommend Bite Back!
Miles was responsive and knowledgeable for all of our questions and needs. Highly recommend
