Bite Back does one thing: bed bugs. Its site says the treatment is chemical-free, high-heat steam rather than sprays, and in an October 2024 review a customer said that narrow focus was the reason they went with it — after several people had come out to work out whether they even had bed bugs, Miles was the one who could tell them. Six of the eight written reviews name Miles. An April 2026 customer called him easy to communicate with and said he made the process as painless as possible; a December 2021 caller, whose elderly mother had been told her rental had bed bugs, said he was informative and calming on the phone and put their fears to rest. One November 2022 account describes work the company did not take. The caller said Bite Back told them that what they were already doing was not wrong but would not solve the problem, explained why in detail, and pointed them to a service better suited than regular pest control. The Somerville company covers Cambridge, Boston and Medford, and says it has been in operation since 2011 and has treated hundreds of homes. A May 2026 reviewer recalled organizing a building-wide check in 2022 using both Bite Back and a dog-sniffing company, with Bite Back treating the bugs that turned up. If you are staring at a mattress seam at midnight, this is a specialist rather than a general exterminator. Ask what the heat treatment covers — how many rooms, how many visits, and what preparation is on you — and whether a follow-up inspection is included in the price.
Back in 2022, I was involved in organizing a check for all the units of our building both with Bite Back and with a dog sniffing company. What bugs we found, Bite Back treated. Cut to this week. I found shell casing and (what I thought were) fecal droppings, and after a quick anxiety attack, I called Bite Back up and sent some photos. He identified the casings as old carpet beetle casings, not bed bugs, and helped me identify the droppings. Then he walked me through what I should keep an eye out for in the coming weeks just to be sure. Effectively, he calmed me down. Since he didn't charge me anything for this frantic phone call, I figured I'd thank him by finally getting around to writing a review for 3 years ago. Our building never had a reoccurrence from that infestation, and he'd stood out in the cold with me for nearly an hour answering all my questions.
Miles is an exceptionally helpful, kind, and professional individual and was incredibly easy to communicate and work with. He made the process as painless as possible and was also very fun to chat with.

Bite Back only does bedbugs, which is reassuring. He is honest and candid. I have been a total wreck, and he helped alleviate a lot of my anxiety. We're 98% sure I don't have bedbugs, but in the outside chance that I do, I feel confident that Miles will take care of it! That's a good feeling! He's also very compassionate.
