BLH Tree Service LLC

BLH Tree Service LLC takes on tree removal and storm cleanup, and its website lists Burlington, Simsbury, Avon, Canton, Granby, Farmington, New Hartford and Barkhamsted as its service area. The company says it has been in business for 25 years. A recent customer wrote that Ben Hinman and his crew cut down several trees, including one that was blocking the driveway. On a second project with Ben and his crew, a recent customer said his climber topped off a tree, then he maneuvered a bucket truck between two homes, a septic field and AC units to trim an out-of-control pine and trim back the trees next to it. That customer said the crew cleaned up as he worked. A recent customer who has used BLH for large tree removal and storm cleanup calls the work fast, safe and reasonably priced. A recent customer said Ben saved them six years ago when a tree fell and has been helping them and their neighbors since. A 2024 customer said BLH took down three pine trees leaning near the house where there was no room to work or drop trees. That 2024 customer had also called BLH for storm damage with four trees hung up and mangled together. A 2023 customer said Ben was the only one to respond to their urgent work after they called many companies, and that the falling tree was cut down and the leaves and branches removed afterward. A 2023 customer said they took out a large, difficult tree in a tight space, showed up when they said they would and left the yard as good as when they arrived. BLH also sells firewood. A 2022 customer who buys cord wood from BLH said they spot-checked its moisture and found it typically at 12% right off the truck. A 2023 customer said Ben did not return three messages about firewood they bought, which they described as dirty, wet, inconsistently sized and partly not seasoned.
