Bonafide Plumbers is a Somerville-area plumbing, heating and gas contractor built around Marquis, with Anela running the office side. Its Massachusetts plumbing license is active, held by Bonafide Plumbers LLC, and on Google, 98 ratings average 4.9 stars. Per its own site, the work spans water heaters, leak repairs, boilers and radiators, fixtures and appliances, and commercial kitchen plumbing — grease traps and backflow prevention among them.
Most of the written record runs from 2021 through 2024, and it covers real range: a burst-pipe emergency fixed the same day someone called, in a 2021 review; a gas range and dishwasher installed in a 200-plus-year-old kitchen without the crew getting thrown by its quirks, in a 2023 review; a bathroom-and-kitchen rough-in plus a forced-hot-water loop built around a manifold, in a 2023 review; and a leak that four other plumbers couldn't find, traced within minutes, in a 2023 review. Pricing gets called out specifically — one 2023 review described Bonafide's quote as the best of several received for the same job, and another described switching to Bonafide after two other companies led with pressure and inflated estimates, in a 2023 review. The most recent review on file, from June 2026, describes the same pattern still holding: a consistently pleasant, professional visit.
One dated review is a real exception. In January 2025, a customer wrote that a $3,000 pump replacement failed within a week, was told the crew was tied up on another job, and ended up paying roughly the same amount again to fix what they called a defective install, with no follow-up support offered.
The bulk of the glowing record here is a few years old rather than fresh — worth asking about current scheduling and, given the one pump complaint, getting any warranty or follow-up terms in writing before a bigger job.
