Two in the morning, a pipe burst on a water heater, and Tom Gallant answered the phone. He was there in about half an hour. A customer wrote that in November 2025, and it is the kind of story that fills this company's reviews. North Shore Comfort Control is essentially one man, described by a customer this July as owner and main technician, working the North Shore's heating and cooling emergencies. The pattern repeats across four years and 78 Google reviews: someone calls when the heat or the AC has failed at the worst possible moment, and he turns up. This July a homeowner called at 4pm heading into a heatwave and he stayed until 10pm getting the system running. Another had an urgent failure on a Saturday; he arrived at 9pm, worked past midnight and came back Sunday. A third, phoning several companies after 8pm on one of the hottest days of the year, said he was the only one who called back. The winter half of the reviews reads the same. A customer writing in February 2026 described him arriving in the middle of one of the coldest nights of the year, after the Super Bowl, to restart a furnace and returning next morning to finish the repairs. Another, in December 2025, said the big company they held a service contract with had left them without heat on the coldest day of the year, and he came out within the hour. What makes these reviews unusual is how often he is the second opinion. In May 2026 a homeowner's 19-year-old central system had been written off by another contractor as a dead compressor; he traced it to squirrel damage to the electrical components and had it running again for a fraction of a replacement. A customer writing in 2022 had been told by two contractors that a living-room ductless mini-split could not be done because of the exterior wall access, and he finished it in two days, then installed central air on the second floor. Another says he diagnosed in one visit what several technicians had failed at for three years. The work runs a little past pure HVAC. Reviewers describe a water heater replaced with its exhaust rerouted out the side of the house away from a defunct chimney, a leaking heating pipe, a condensation drain, a new pump; one customer in mid-2025 simply calls him their HVAC and plumbing guy. Two things to weigh. Everything known about this business sits on Google, with no second platform to cross-check it against. And it is one technician, so his schedule is the constraint: a customer this June was glad to be squeezed in. Call early in a heatwave or a cold snap, ask what the visit will cost, and expect Tom himself at the door.
Responsive, great communication, all repairs shown and explained. Highly recommend!
Great experience. Tom is very knowledgeable, and got my AC back up and running quickly. He explained everything clearly and made the whole process easy and explained options that best fit the situation. I definitely recommend him to anyone needing AC repair.
I called North shore comfort control at 4:00 p.m. on a Monday as we were heading into a heatwave. Thomas came at the end of his day and stayed at my house until 10:00 p.m. fixing my system so that I would have air conditioning the following day. He diagnosed the problem, had all the parts available to fix it and made sure that the system would continue to work for years to come. He is definitely a professional and worthy of 10 Stars.
I highly recommend Tom Gallant, owner & main technician of North Shore Comfort Control. We had an urgent HVAC issue this Saturday, and Tom responded almost immediately. He arrived at our home at 9:00 PM and worked until after midnight. He then returned on Sunday to continue the work. Throughout the entire process, Tom kept me informed, explained what he was doing, and communicated clearly every step of the way. His responsiveness, dedication, expertise, and commitment to customer service is truly exceptional. Finding someone who is willing to answer an emergency call on a weekend—and stay late into the night to ensure the job is done right—is rare. Thank you, Tom, for your professionalism, integrity, and outstanding service. I deeply appreciate everything you did for us. Five stars without hesitation.
Highly Recommend Thomas at Northshore Comfort Control! Our AC stopped working on one of the hottest days of the year, and after calling several companies after 8 PM, Northshore Comfort Control was the only one to call us back. Thomas arrived quickly, diagnosed the problem right away, and thankfully determined it was a failed capacitor - not the compressor we feared it was going to be. He had our AC up and running in no time, but what impressed us most was Thomas himself. He was professional, knowledgeable, honest, and genuinely kind during a very stressful situation. It’s rare to find someone who is not only excellent at their job but also such a good person. We are incredibly grateful for his help and will absolutely be calling Thomas for all future HVAC maintenance and service. If you’re looking for responsive, trustworthy, and exceptional service, look no further than Northshore Comfort Control!! Thank you again, Thomas! Our family (and our two golden retrievers!) are very happy to have the AC back! You’re the best!!!
