The loyalty is real: one customer, in a February 2025 review, said they'd been with the company over forty years and couldn't square that with the negative reviews; another, in a 2023 review, put their tenure at nearly twenty years and credited a staffer named Paul with always showing up for boiler trouble. In a December 2025 review, a customer called for help balancing steam radiators and said someone came out that same day. The complaints are specific enough to weigh. A 2023 review from a longtime customer of the company's prior name, Down Oil, said service worsened sharply after a change in ownership — overcharging, refusing smaller delivery amounts, and an unprofessional new owner. A 2024 review said a customer was left without heat during cold, wet weather and became ill, naming a staff member, 'Paul C.,' as the problem — a claim at odds with the other customer's praise of a Paul. And a March 2026 review reported one of the company's oil tankers running a red light without attempting to stop. For an established North Shore oil delivery outfit, the split reviews are worth a direct conversation before signing on — ask who's currently running day-to-day service and what a delivery minimum looks like.
