Boston Cabinets is a South Boston kitchen cabinet and design shop that Houzz says Peter Carr started in 2004, and its customers write about their designer by name. Several worked with Marissa: a June 2022 Google reviewer said she was the only one of the cabinet retailers they visited to find a creative design for a challenging layout, and a May 2023 reviewer called her a great communicator who suggested layout changes they had not thought of. In a December 2022 review, a customer described a kitchen and bathroom renovation in Newbury, and in July 2025 one reviewer credited Joy with their kitchen while another praised Marissa and her team. In September 2025, a one-star reviewer who said they were a vendor of the company wrote that Boston Cabinets had stiffed them for $7,000 and had not answered months of emails, letters and calls, and that they were filing a small claims case. Google shows 4.7 stars from 17 ratings, and Houzz shows 11 projects. A Massachusetts construction supervisor licence (CS-020289) held by Peter M Carr is expired on the state registry, which lists it as "Null and Void".
BEWARE! We are a vendor of theirs and have worked with them on projects in the past. Recently they stiffed us for $7000.00. We have yet to hear from anyone within their company and have sent multiple emails, letters and called and left voicemails, to no avail. In the process of filing a small claims case against this company. This has been ongoing for months. BEWARE! Do not pay them upfront for ANYTHING!
We worked with Joy and couldn’t be happier!! She brought our kitchen dreams to life…more than we could’ve imagined! She was so lovely to work with. Highly recommend!! And the quality of the cabinets are amazing
Had the greatest of pleasure working with Marissa and her team. We worked with Peter before that and the cabinets he provided for our home still get complimented to this day. Stellar company. Great design choices.
I'd recommend Boston Cabinets to anyone. I had such a great experience working with them. Remodeling your kitchen can be such a stressful experience and they were so lovely to work with. From helping me find something I loved, working incredibly well within my budget and overall just helping me with advice through every step. Karina was the absolute bright spot of my whole kitchen remodel and I look forward to working with them again on future projects!
