Boston Green Renovations, run out of Newton by builder Bob LaFond — who the Boston Globe also identifies as the owner of Terrene of New England, a green-building materials supplier — focuses on kitchen and bathroom remodels, additions, and whole-house renovations built around sustainable materials, with more than 30 years of building experience behind the company. The written accounts on file, spanning 2015 to 2024, describe a company that delivers on the design side as much as the construction side. A 2024 Google review, from a client who found the company through a prior customer's recommendation, described designer Michelle guiding every choice on a kitchen project, from cabinets to countertops to backsplash. Two 2019 Angi reviews described a professional, timely, neat renovation that produced what one reviewer called a beautiful space, met budget with no surprises, and kept to its schedule. A 2015 Houzz review described bamboo floors, a deck, and painting completed on a property in Groton, adding that the company was booked far into the year — worth the wait, in that reviewer's telling. One thing worth verifying directly: BuildZoom lists a building contractor and residential builder license (#43539) for the company as active, but flags it as not independently verified, with an expiration date of August 2023 already several years in the past. The same BuildZoom record also ties the license to a Hingham, MA address, while the company's own site and every other directory list Newton — worth asking which is current. For a kitchen remodel or a larger renovation built around sustainable materials, the specific praise here — especially around design guidance — is consistent across nearly a decade; just confirm the license is current before signing a contract. In a 2015 r/boston thread, a poster who worked with Terrene and Boston Green Renovations said they did a nice job, on time and on budget.
“we worked with Terrene (http://terreneofne.com) and Boston Green Renovations. They did a nice job, on time and on budget.”

“Guiding this massive project was contractor Bob LaFond of Boston Green Renovations and designer Michell”
I chose Boston Green Renovations for my kitchen project based on a recommendation from one of their prior clients. They are a great team. Michelle paid attention to every single detail of the project. She helped me pick everything from the cabinets to the countertops, backsplash, faucet to the paint and more and all according to my budget. Michelle is extremely professional all the while being a kind, nice and sincere person. Albert and his crew were very respectful and completed the job with as little disruption as possible for a project of that type. Bob kept me informed every step of the way. I would recommend them for any home improvement project.
From the day we signed the contract to the last day they were here they were professional, timely, pleasant, neat and produced an absolutely beautiful space for us.
They met my budget, there were no surprises. They kept to a schedule.
Boston Green Renovations did a beautiful job with bamboo floors, a deck and painting our property in Groton. They are booked far into the year, but the work is worth it.
