In a December 2023 review, a licensed Massachusetts architect wrote that he hired Boston Quality Contractors for the addition on his own house — foundation, framing, envelope, plumbing, electrical and HVAC, the full scope — and recommended them for similar work. That sits at the top of this company's range. Jefferson Barros and Ana Fortin-Barros run it out of East Walpole as managing partners, the site says it was founded in 2021, and both its Angi and HomeAdvisor pages report five years of experience. Basements come up more than any other job. A January 2024 customer had an unfinished basement turned into new living space, with a number of customized requests along the way; in April 2023 another said the quote for finishing a basement storage space was fair and the work arrived ahead of schedule; a January 2023 customer wrote simply that they loved the new look of theirs. Bathrooms and kitchens run alongside: one June 2022 customer had two bathrooms, a kitchen and finish work done, plus exterior siding and flashing repairs, and another that same month had all three bathrooms renovated on time and on budget, with permits and inspections handled. The smaller jobs read the same way. A June 2025 customer hired them to clear out a 6-by-10 metal shed that came apart in a winter storm and wrote that the owner and his wife worked so hard and so fast it was exhausting to watch. A December 2025 customer had siding work done and kitchen ventilation added, and credited an accurate quote and responsive communication start to finish. One reservation sits in the reviews. In November 2022, a four-star customer said they would hire the company again for smaller jobs but was not sure it had the depth for larger ones; the owner replied to that review. The architect's full-scope addition came a year later, so if your project is on the bigger end, ask who is on site day to day and which trades get subcontracted. On credentials, Angi and HomeAdvisor both list Massachusetts trade licence #203012, both show a Rhode Island Builders Association membership, and the company's own site says it holds a Massachusetts unrestricted construction supervisor licence and home improvement contractor registration along with contractor registrations in New Hampshire and Rhode Island. For a basement build-out, a bathroom or an addition around East Walpole and the Boston area, this is a small, hands-on outfit whose partners turn up on the job. Ask for the crew and subcontractor plan on anything large, and get the licence numbers and the scope in writing before the permit goes in.
I hired Jeff and his team to do a few projects, including some siding work, and the addition of external ventilation to my kitchen. Jeff was very responsive during our initial interactions as well as throughout the completion of the projects. He was able to come out within several days to walk through the work and give me a quote. The quote ended up being the exact cost of the work, which was great! His team members were all friendly and professional. They were able to finish the work quickly and I am very happy with the quality of the work. I will definitely hire Boston Quality Contractors again for future jobs!
We had a 6X10 metal shed in our backyard that came apart in a winter storm. We hired BCQ (Boston Quality Contractors) to remove it. The owner and his wife are an amazing team. They worked so hard and so quickly that I was exhausted just watching them. They did an outstanding job and we could not have found anyone better or as good. And besides they were both so friendly and nice. We are so glad that we found them and highly recommend them. We will look no further if we need more work done.
Very professional and responsive. Arrived on time, got the job done, cleaned up thoroughly.
We had a great experience working with BQC and couldn't be happier with the final product. They were very professional to work with at every step of the way and turned our unfinished basement into a great new living space. We had a number of highly customized requests for the space that they delivered on flawlessly and were able to do so for a very reasonable price relative to the other quotes we had gotten. Communication/professionalism was always great as well, and they will certainly be our first call for any future building or remodeling projects
Jeff and Ana are great.
