Boston Standby is a Raynham generator business with an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau. In 2026, Boston Standby handled Generac maintenance for $199, with communication kept clear throughout. In one of those 2026 reviews, the technician explained every finding. In a 2025 review, Tim gave a quote the reviewer called very thorough and complete, set an annual maintenance charge of $169, and said he would maintain the records of the annual maintenance for the five-year warranty. That 2025 reviewer wrote that the Generac installation outside looked very professional, clean and aesthetically pleasing, and that Tim spent an hour demonstrating how the generator works when the power goes off. In the same 2025 review, he brought a 20 amp circuit breaker for a circuit that was tripping all the time and upgraded the circuit at no charge. In another 2025 review, a customer who bought a Generac generator from Tim Groh wrote that the additional work load of an HOA community did not deter him and that he was prompt with returning calls. In a 2022 review, Tim came to the house, walked the reviewers through everything, made suggestions and worked with the propane company they chose. In another 2022 review, Tim came in with a quote that did not go up, coordinated with the other services, had the job completed on time, and later diagnosed an issue and followed up to make sure it was still working. In a 2022 review, a customer whose generator Tim had installed about two years earlier wrote that after a nor'easter he was in touch within minutes with the exact answer needed. In a 2022 review, a customer wrote that no gas or electrical permit was pulled, which was reported to the town, and that the unit was put right next to the air intake to their home; that 2022 reviewer also called him extremely rude. In a 2021 review, a customer wrote that their generator was not serviced properly and that an elderly aunt's generator did not work in a November storm, so she went to a company in Pembroke for the repair.
My Generac maintenance was thorough, communication stayed clear throughout, the technician explained every finding, and the $199 price felt worthwhile and honest.
Boston Standby handled my Generac maintenance professionally. Communication stayed clear throughout scheduling, and the $199 service felt worthwhile after thorough inspection and smooth operation.
I purchased a Generac generator from Tim Groh, Boston Standby. He was my first choice and really only choice for my purchase. He was very knowledgeable, took a great deal of time during my initial meeting as well as my follow up questions. I live in a community that requires an HOA and the additional work load didn't deter Tim! He always is pleasant courteous prompt with returning calls and arrives on time as well as makes every concerted effort to come if there's a problem. Even in a blizzard. He is exemplary and I can't endorse him enough .I am very happy I went with Boston Standby and Tim. Believe me you will be too!!
My mom is getting older and she lives alone and we were referred to Tim by our neighbor who had a Generac generator installed by him. I called Tim and we set up a meeting after work very conveniently to discuss a proposal for installing a Generac generator. I had done my homework and established that Generac was probably the most reliable whole house generator. I always get more than one quote for a project and I called another local electrician who installed generators. I was not impressed with the electrician who I got a second quote with. Unprofessional and he was not interested in maintaining the generator but every couple of years and charged $450 for a tuneup. When I asked him about having an annual tuneup to document for the five-year warranty, he shrugged his shoulders and said he was not sure about that. Tim treated the generator and the installation like it was his own and his annual maintenance charge is only $169. He stated he would maintain the records for the annual maintenance work for the five year warranty. in addition, his quote was very thorough and complete and I was never able to get a written quote from the second electrician that I met with. Tim is a super communicator and because I work during the day and my mom is home, He let me know the day before what was planned and when he had to shut the power off and what he would be doing either inside or outside of the house, etc. The installation of the generator by Generac outside looked very professional, clean and aesthetically pleasing. Once the installation was done, Tim scheduled a meeting with my mom and I to demonstrate the operation of the Generac generator when the power goes off. He spent an hour with us and was not in a rush. In addition, we were having an issue with a circuit that was tripping all the time because of an over the stove microwave, and he stated that he would take a look at it and help us out even though it was not part of the installation of the generator. He brought a 20 amp circuit breaker. He made sure that the wire gauge was appropriate for that and upgraded the circuit at no charge! Anyone who uses anyone but Tim to install a generator would be making a serious mistake. His pricing is extremely reasonable and as he states and my neighbor who has witnessed for over a year, that anytime there is an issue or a power outage, he is a text away for any questions or any concerns. Tim is very professional and has a pleasant affable manner about him. I can't say enough good things about the whole experience!
From the very first contact with Tim and the Generac team this was a wonderful experience. Tim came to the house walked us through everything, made suggestions and worked with the Propane company we chose and it was all done in a timely fashion. We couldn't be happier with everything
