Verified record
Brenner Paint Contracting is a Brighton painting outfit run by a principal customers call Dave, and its written record is both strong and old: six reviews, every one of them five stars, all dated between December 2007 and November 2012. What those customers describe is speed and consideration. A homeowner writing in July 2008 called on a Tuesday, had an estimate on the Wednesday and the painting done that Saturday — the crew of two finished the whole place in seven hours, having been asked only to buy the paint themselves after being walked through the options and pointed at a store that discounted it. The quote came in at around half what two other companies had asked, and the painter said they needn't pay until they were happy. A reviewer in August 2009 spent three weeks with Dave and his team on site during a simultaneous construction project and wrote that he told them the day before which part of the house he would be working on so they could pull the shades down for privacy, and that neighbours they had never met stopped by to compliment the work. A shop owner writing in August 2011 took four estimates ranging from $3,000 to $8,000, chose Brenner from the middle of that range, and had the store ready for its grand opening on a tight deadline. The profile claims over 25 years of experience, insurance and workers' compensation, and lists a LEAD certification number, alongside a service list that stretches well past painting into hardwood floors, tile, sheet rocking, cabinets and wallpaper removal. The caveat is the calendar: nothing has been written about this business in well over a decade, and all six accounts sit on a single directory. Treat the praise as real but historical — ask who is on the crew now, ask for two jobs finished in the last year, and confirm the lead certification and insurance are current before any work on a pre-1978 house.

We are in the middle of a house renovation and will probably have to call him back out for some touch up work. The sub-contractor recommended him to us. The quality is very good and we will use him again if needed.
I got four estimates that ranged from 3000. to 8000. I was shocked at the difference in pricing and decided to go with Brenner Painting to paint my store because he took the time and effort to listen to what I wanted. His price fell in the middle but I could tell that he knew his stuff. The quality of his work was amazing and he is extremely detail oriented. I told him that I was under a huge time crunch to get the job done and he went over and above to make sure that everything looked perfect for my Grand Opening! I have recommended him to many of my clients and friends and they have been equally pleased with his work. I would recommend Brenner Painting to anyone who wants quality, value, and a trust worthy painter.
My interaction with Brenner Paint Contracting Company was good. The one thing that stood out them was that they acted very quickly.
His work was exceptional and we are very pleased with the outcome. Neighbors I have never met before stopped by to compliment Dave's work. We had some construction happening at the same time, and Dave was great in communicating with the contractors and working around their project. Dave and his team were very polite to all our neighbors. Dave and his team were at our home for about three weeks and we never felt like they were intruding our invading privacy - in fact, Dave always told us the day before where on the house he would be working and told us to prepare, ie, pull shades down, for privacy reasons - his sensitivity was appreciated. Dave is an honest person, his prices are reasonable, the work is outstanding, he's very professional, and takes his work very seriously. I have hired many different types of contractors and subs to work on my house in the last five years, and Dave was one of the most pleasant to work with.
Dave was accommodating, professional, quick, well-priced, and did an excellent job. We called on a Tuesday, he came for an estimate on Wednesday, and he painted that Saturday, finishing the same day. He was willing and able to move some other jobs around in order to meet our request for quick turnaround, which impressed us. His only request for us was that we buy the paint because he wasn't going to have time before Saturday, but he walked us through the options of what to get and directed us to a store that gave us a nice discount. We didn't mind doing this at all because he has been so accommodating. He arrived right on time for both the estimate and the day of painting, and said we didn't have to pay him until we were happy. He worked with one other colleague and they finished the whole place in 7 hours. It looked great and we were very happy with the job. The price was totally reasonable, too ($1000) --we had gotten a quote from a couple other companies for almost twice as much.
