Brian Dynes came to the U.S. from Ireland in 2003, started out washing brushes and sweeping floors for Boston painting companies, and by 2012 was running his own. He still works that way — the company says it takes one project at a time so the owner is on every job himself, and reviewers write about him personally rather than about a crew. What they describe is care with detail. In an October 2021 review, a client called him meticulous, said every detail was tended to and that he flagged things the client had not seen, and named his painters Hector and Wilson as equally good; the same reviewer said every other trade on the project asked for Brian's contact information. A September 2021 customer who had the whole interior of their house painted described a team that was on time and easy to deal with, at prices they found reasonable for the quality. The work is broad for a painter: interior and exterior, ceilings, cabinets, doors and decks, plus wallpaper removal, plaster and drywall repair, popcorn-ceiling and lead-paint removal, and garage floor coatings. Typical jobs are quoted anywhere from $1,000 to $100,000, and its stated coverage runs from Boston out to Marblehead. Two things need raising. First, the licence. The Massachusetts registry shows home improvement contractor registration 194163 in Brian Dynes's own name as EXPIRED, while the company's website states it is 'Fully Licensed & Registered' and its Houzz profile prints that same number without qualification. That registration is what gives a homeowner access to the state Guaranty Fund, and it matters more than usual here because the company advertises lead paint removal, which is regulated work on pre-1978 housing. Second, the ratings do not agree. Google shows 4.1 across 18 ratings; Houzz shows a clean 5.0 across 5. The Google average is well below five, so some of those 18 customers rated the work down, and none of those accounts were readable here — the only two review bodies retrievable anywhere are both from 2021 and both five stars. Ask him directly about the registration status before any deposit, and ask to see the Google reviews behind that 4.1 yourself.

Brian is the consummate partner, which is key for any project. You want someone who understands your vision and has the confidence to make it perfect. Brian is this kind of creative. He was incredibly meticulous and every detail was tended to. Brian picked out things that I didn’t even see. His team, specifically Hector and Wilson were equally great painters. Most importantly, Brian is a great human being and is so nice. Every other partner who worked on my project liked Brian and his positive attitude as well as his final work product. Each of them asked for Brian’s contact information, as they wanted to use him on other projects.

Brian and his guys were amazing. They painted the entire interior of my house from head to toe and were detail oriented and a joy to work with. Brian is so easy to communicate with, and his team was always on time and friendly. His prices are very reasonable for the quality of work. Couldn’t be more pleased
