A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.

Brocks Building is a Wareham roofing and general-carpentry outfit run by Brian Brocklehurst, family-owned and self-described as operating for about 20 years across Cape Cod, the South Shore and southeastern Massachusetts. Roofing is the headline trade, but the written record covers plenty of siding, deck, and carpentry work too. Most reviews describe solid, detail-oriented work: a 2022 review describes the crew replacing wood and old nails to bring a roof up to code before finishing with new flashing, and a 2021 review describes them fixing unexpected carpenter-ant damage and swapping rotten trim for new PVC while on-site for a roof job. Deck projects get consistent praise too — reviewers in 2024 and 2025 cite fast turnarounds, including one built in two days, flexible budget options, and competitive quotes. But two later reviews describe a different pattern on roofing specifically. A 2025 review says shingles fell off twice on a roof installed in 2020 — fixed the first time, then ignored on the second — and that a different roofing company found improper installation once they got involved: incorrect underlayment, insufficient nails, exposed plywood. A 2023 review describes a similar arc on an older roof — a leak that resurfaced years after a 2017 install, three weeks of unanswered voicemails to Brian during an active rainstorm, and three independent roofing companies agreeing the shingle courses had separated. Worth confirming directly before hiring for roofing work: the state registry shows the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor license has been expired since 2018.
Had our roof replaced in March 2020. On two separate occasions the shingles have fallen off. The first time Brian fixed it then two weeks ago it happened again and he has ignored us. So we contacted another roofing company that has said our roof was installed improperly and the plywood is exposed since the underlay is on there but incorrectly plus not enough nails used. We now need a new roof after 5 years.
Brian worked with me on a tight budget and laid out multiple options for me to choose from. He had his team here within a week of signing the contract and redid our deck in 2 days. Great work
After having a new roof put on my home, I can heartedly recommend Brooks Building for your consideration. He, his team and his affiliations were all punctual, professional and personable. While any work on one's home can be a disruptive experience, Brian and his people make their work as tolerable as possible! Suffice it to say, Brooks Building were a pleasure to deal with and I look forward to having them back for other work that my home sorely needs.
I couldn't be happier with my deck project. Brian and his crew built it as if were their own. If you are looking for a company that is honest and really is there from the sign up to the cleanup do not hesitate to call them. You will be glad you did.
⭐️10/10 would recommend!!! Our deck remodel was a dream! We received the most affordable quote in the area and were met with superior quality and professionalism!
