James Brolly says he built his Norwood construction business from the ground up and has served Greater Boston since 1977. The company describes remodeling and new construction; local profiles also list additions, custom homes, and siding work. The written reviews are few and dated: a 2021 customer reported an excellent experience, and a 2012 homeowner described cedar siding custom-cut to match the design of a 1920s house. BuildZoom shows 5.0 from two reviews, but those accounts span 2012 to 2021, so they offer little recent detail. Check the registration before signing. BuildZoom lists HIC #101923 as inactive/cancelled and a separate HIC #180681 as active as of August 2026; it also lists Construction Supervisor license #CS-017855 as active as of July 2026. BBB lists #101923 without a status. Ask which registration covers your project and verify it with Massachusetts before work begins.

I had an excellent experience with Jim Brolly from Brolly construction.
We just had a small job done with James Brolly and the finished result exceeded my expectations. Our home was built in the 20s and has a unique design. They had to replace siding, however we wanted to use cedar wood. In order to do this they had to custom each piece of siding to look like the original design. The project was done on time and we are very happy with their work.
