Brown Roofing Inc is a roofing and exterior contractor at 12 Progress Ave. in Seymour, Connecticut. The company's site says it has been in business 54 years and lists roof replacement, metal and flat roofing, roof repair, ice dam removal, gutters, vinyl siding, chimney repair, windows and doors, and skylights and sun tunnels. A roofingcontractor.com story says the company launched "Roofing for Humanity" and gave the widow of former Botsford Fire Rescue Chief Richard Brady a new roof. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration HIC.0549011 is active, held by BROWN ROOFING CO INC. Google shows 4.8 stars from 1094 ratings, Angi and HomeAdvisor 4.5 from 24 each, and Thumbtack 4.2 from 6. Roof replacements finished in a day are the common thread: an October 2025 review says Austin checked the roof by drone and the crew stripped and re-roofed a 3000 sq. ft. colonial the same day, an April 2026 review says a scheduled 2-day job was done in 1 day under supervisor Guery, and a June 2026 review describes a close to 5,000 square feet roof done in two days with nails cleared by magnet. The service department comes up by name in 2026, with Dave thanked for repairs and gutter fixes. An August 2026 review of new vinyl siding and gutters says the final bill was not a penny more than quoted and the crew did extra repairs at no cost, and a September 2026 siding review says the original crew left soffit work exposed for two days before management replaced the crew and brought in Guery to finish. The complaints center on follow-through and pricing. An August 2026 three-star review describes a third roof leak on a 7-year-old roof and a nine-day wait for a visit. A January 2024 one-star review says a warranty claim on a 2 year old roof went unanswered for over a month while water reached the plywood behind the chimney, and a May 2022 Angi review says a skylight paid for in October 2020 was never delivered. A September 2026 review calls a 14k quote for a garage's rubber roof double the first estimate, and reviews from June 2026 and November 2023 describe estimators who turned down a gable vent job or pushed an insurance claim for a full roof.
“After learning of the death of former Botsford Fire Rescue Chief Richard Brady, Seymore, Conn.-based Brown Roofing launched a new philanthropic endeavor called “Roofing for Humanity,” which gave his widow a new roof on her house.”
Received exceptional service from beginning to end of the process. Especially from the two repair servicemen, Dave and his partner (wish I could remember his name),who were highly professional and did better job than I ever expected. My roof and molding look better now than before.
Enjoyed working with the Brown roofing team to replace my rotting out skylights. They talked me through the steps and kept me updated. Thank you!
Showed up promptly and they were very thorough. Excellent job, will recommend to anyone who asks!
We recently completed a siding project with Brown Roofing, and I especially want to recognize our project manager, Guery. I want to be honest that the project did not start smoothly. We had some significant concerns with the original crew. At one point, work on the soffit was left exposed for two days after the crew had to stop because of vehicle problems. With heavy rain in the forecast, we were understandably very concerned. We made several calls to the company and spoke with the salesperson, and eventually escalated our concerns to management. I do want to give Brown Roofing credit for how they responded once our concerns were escalated. They took the situation seriously, replaced the original crew, and brought Guery in to take over the project. That made a significant difference. Guery also supervised our previous roofing project, so we already knew how thorough and responsible he was. What stands out most about him is his communication and attention to detail. He takes the time to explain things clearly, listen to our concerns, and genuinely try to see things from the homeowner's perspective. After so many conversations throughout the project, he often understood what we were looking for even before we had to explain every detail. He took photos, kept us updated, and communicated with us throughout the process. He paid attention to the small details and was willing to work through them with us rather than simply saying, "That's how it's done." Our siding project involved many details, and having someone who was willing to listen, communicate, and follow through made a huge difference. Guery stayed involved and helped make sure the project was brought to completion according to what we had discussed. Overall, while the beginning of the project was frustrating, I appreciated that Brown Roofing responded when we raised our concerns, and I am especially grateful that Guery stepped in and took the time to see the project through. If I could give Guery six stars, I would. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ He is truly a treasure to Brown Roofing. His patience, communication, attention to detail, and commitment to his customers are qualities that are not easy to find. We really appreciate everything he did for us.
Great team. Hardworking. A pleasure to have working on my roof.
