What Rich Buccelli's customers write about most is how fast he gets there. More than half of the 25 Angi reviews turn on the same thing — same-day visits, arrivals on time, the problem handled on the first trip — and four of them name his son working the job alongside him. BBB records the business as a Southbridge sole proprietorship started 4/9/2001 under Mr. Richard D. Buccelli; the company's own site says the family has been doing plumbing for Southbridge and the surrounding towns for over 25 years, and names Sturbridge, Charlton and Auburn as its area. His Massachusetts plumber licence, 25861-PL-J, is active on the state registry. The longer reviews describe small, awkward repairs finished in one visit. In an August 2024 review, a homeowner wrote that Rich and his son identified a water leak, cut the ceiling and repaired it in several places — the ceiling, under the sink and at the faucets. An April 2024 customer said he worked them in between other jobs within hours of their call and fixed a corroded sink pipe at what they called a very reasonable cost, and a May 2024 reviewer described a callback about two minutes after requesting a quote, an arrival the next morning, and the pair cleaning up completely when they finished. A June 2024 review about cutting and capping a gas pipe for a new stove called the price high, but worth it. The operation is small and local enough that a March 2026 reviewer thanked Richard for a couple of weeks of snow removal. The newest review, from July 2026, says they did the job and took time to explain everything. Google reads differently, from a much smaller set: 2.6 stars from five ratings. A December 2023 reviewer wrote that the company does not install a customer-provided tankless water heater and wanted to sell its own instead — worth raising early if you have already bought your equipment. An October 2023 one-star review took issue with how the owner handles disagreement, and a September 2022 review complained about the drivers of truck #25861 screaming at people and threatening to fight over a parking space. The name still comes up locally: on a Southbridge Nextdoor thread in August 2026, one neighbor put forward Buccelli & Son and a second said they had used Buccelli as well. For a leak, a water heater, a well pump or a repair you need looked at this week, this is a small shop built for exactly that, and its BBB file has carried an A+ since 2014. Ask before you buy any fixture or heater yourself, and on gas work or anything larger than a repair, get the price agreed before the work starts.
