Burr Remodeling is a Plymouth design-build shop that owner Bob Burr says has been serving the South Shore and Cape Cod since 1993, and its written record backs up a company built for full remodels rather than small repairs: kitchen and mudroom overhauls, whole-house gut renovations that touch electrical, HVAC, plumbing and the exterior, bathroom conversions, and window and flooring installs. The recurring theme across its reviews is process — named office staff (Beth, Nanci) keep clients updated on schedule day to day, and several reviewers describe crews that protect finished surfaces and clean up daily, down to sweeping the driveway for stray screws. More than one homeowner used Burr for a second or third project after an earlier one went well: one couple who'd had hardwood installed in four rooms called it their second job with the company, and another described a full whole-house remodel — new electrical, heat, AC, plumbing, floors and exterior — that ran close to a year with named project leads throughout. Not every account is glowing. In a 2026 review, a homeowner described a bedroom conversion — knocking down a wall and converting two bedrooms into one — that cost $30,000 and required buying her own light fixtures separately, and recounted an uncomfortable moment where a crew member, rather than Bob Burr himself, relayed a request for the final payment. It's the one dissenting account in an otherwise consistent record of five-star reviews going back to 2022. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is verified active with the state, and its Better Business Bureau profile carries an A+ grade, though the BBB lists 25 years in business while the company's own site claims 33 (since 1993) — a discrepancy worth a quick ask if the exact founding date matters to you. On Houzz, it holds a 5.0-star average across 23 reviews plus eight Houzz Awards and an RRP Lead-Safe Contractor certification. For a full kitchen or bath remodel, an addition, or a whole-house project where you want a company running day-to-day communication rather than a single contractor juggling everything, Burr's track record is deep — just ask upfront how add-on costs like fixtures get billed.
Nicole Peresada, married now. It took awhile to get my bedroom done, there were only 2 people working on it. Took about a month to convert 2 bedrooms into 1 bedroom, knock down a wall, build a closet, etc. What rubbed me the wrong way was the fact that I'm being charged $30,000 for the job and I was told to buy my own light fixtures? I don't see how that makes a bit of sense. There was one day where a worker approached me and said "Bob keeps bugging me for the last check". I'm sorry- if Bob wanted his money so bad he could have approached or contacted either me or my husband instead of having the worker say that to me. Was not happy about that and lastly, this entire project will now have been going on for over two months. I still do not have shelving for the closet, it’s just an empty room. The closet has been delayed and pushed back to the beginning of April. The project started at the end of January. This is unacceptable... I've been living now for over two months without a closet and still do not have one. My stuff is scattered everywhere, and I have nowhere to put it. $30,000 seems a bit much? We asked for a breakdown of pricing and were told they don’t do that. EDIT: I also want to add that the workers used OUR bedroom set as a shelf for their tools, which left stains/scratches on it, we were unable to move it out of the room due to lack of space so they told us that would be fine and they would place a cover over it, instead they used it as a shelf.
Bob Burr and his team of carpenters and office staff were a pleasure to work with. The entire team on the job site were skilled, timely and polite. What separates Burr from other tradesmen that we have worked with is their professionalism. Everything is agreed upon ahead of time and when changes occurred, they were addressed openly and directly in person and then in writing. The Burr office staff were in continual contact with us about the plans for each day and week, which kept us at ease throughout the project. We highly recommend Burr Remodeling and look forward to using them again soon.
Bob and his crew worked efficiently installing our new windows. They made sure to pay attention to every little detail going as far as laying drop cloths and sweeping the driveway for nails or screws daily! Everyone who has seen the new windows have commented on how good they look and how much brighter the rooms are now. Look no further if you want quality work at a reasonable price!
I put a heated tile floor in my new addition. The guys were very careful to cover the flooring where they walked in and out. They were pleasant, diligent, and did a fabulous job.
Such a positive experience! From office to construction crew everyone was professional accommodating helpful clean timely and attentive to details we wouldn’t have thought about. In love with our remodeled primary suite.
