One Houzz reviewer, writing in August 2014, counted four kitchens and bathrooms Vinny Farina had built for them over the years — the house they were living in included. Kitchens by Farina is the remodeling side of a cabinet business: BBB files it as Farina Kitchens/Farina Brothers, Inc., a custom manufacturer of kitchen cabinets and vanities established in 1950, and Houzz describes the company as family-owned. The written history runs 2014 to 2017, and it is whole-room work rather than swap-outs. Reviewers in 2014 describe a complete gut that added wall and ceiling insulation for a kitchen built to suit a Victorian house with modern amenities, a remodel that opened doorways and extended a wall, and three bathrooms done alongside hardwood flooring in the kitchen. A December 2016 reviewer lists an entire kitchen redone, down to tearing out and replacing all of the flooring and building a new doorway. The September 2014 accounts are about running the job. One reviewer went through the subcontractors — tile, plumbers, plaster, painter, electrician — and called them professional, timely and high quality; another said Vinny worked alongside their own contractor when the kitchen was relocated as part of a larger renovation. An August 2017 reviewer calls him a perfectionist, extremely well organized, and says he keeps the customer up to date about when to expect the plumber and the electrician. Money gets one direct mention: a homeowner writing in August 2014 took three quotes and said Farina's was by far the most detailed and comprehensive, while adding it was not necessarily the cheapest. The thing to settle before signing anything is the paperwork. The Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration in Vincent M Farina's name, #194028, is expired on the state registry, and BuildZoom shows that same number as inactive; BuildZoom and Houzz both list construction supervisor licence CSFA-064479. Ask which registrations are current for the job you have in mind.
