C & R Flooring has run out of Westwood since 1986, when owner Chris Zizza started it as a side job doing sand-and-finish work before building it into a full residential and commercial hardwood, luxury vinyl, and cork flooring business. The company says it's been at it 37 years and serves Westwood, Weston, Boston, Milton, and Newport, R.I. Within the wood-flooring trade, Zizza is a recognized name: an NWFA Hall of Famer who has chaired the National Wood Flooring Association's board and now its Certified Professionals Board, and who co-hosts the NWFA's Real Answers podcast. He was a 2013 Ellis Island Medal of Honor recipient, and the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston gave the company its 2013 PRISM Community Spirit award. The company also says its installers are Bona Certified Craftsmen, NWFA-certified, and hold a Massachusetts lead-removal certification. That trade-press record includes specifics on the actual work, too. In a 2016 piece, three of the company's installers laid roughly 8,000 square feet of 1½-inch-thick quartersawn fir flooring built to support a multimillion-dollar vintage car collection at Rhode Island's Audrain Automobile Museum, work owner Chris Zizza described directly. Coverage running through 2026 keeps returning to the same themes: Zizza's standing in the industry and his views on hardwood versus newer materials like LVT. C & R Flooring is the call for hardwood specialty work — new installs, dustless refinishing, and matching materials in an older New England home — the kind of project that has built Zizza's reputation across the flooring trade for more than three decades.
“Chris Zizza, founder of C&R Flooring Inc. and an NWFA Hall of Famer.”
“According to Chris Zizza, president of Massachusetts-based C&R Flooring and the NWFA’s outgoing chairman, commercial contractors need to learn to sell hardwood better. He also noted that, while LVT does have a role in areas where moisture can be a problem, installing hardwood outside of these moisture-sensitive areas adds value to the home and promotes a healthy environment.”
“Zizza, who is President of C&R Flooring in Westwood, Massachusetts, has placed giving and helping others at the forefront of his daily life.”
“Chris Zizza, owner of C&R Flooring and my co-host on the NWFA Real Answers Podcast, will emcee the workshop.”
“Chris Zizza is an industry leader whose journey from adversity to achievement is marked by resilience, compassion, and dedication.”
