A homeowner called Jake the day he was referred, sent photos and a square-foot count, and had a price back in minutes; the crew then turned up earlier than scheduled. That was April 2026, on a basement floor the owner had disliked since buying the house four years before. Cape Epoxy coats garage, basement and utility-room floors out of Peabody and says it works the coast from Boston down to Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Jake Andrews is the company. By his own account he learned the trade at Saulnier Epoxy in Boston, started Cape Epoxy on the Cape, then bought Saulnier and folded the two together under one name — which is why customers writing in early 2025 thank Saulnier and customers writing this spring thank Cape Epoxy for the same work. Prep is what people single out. One April 2026 customer, who said flatly that prep is where most epoxy jobs fail, wrote that this one was done right and the floor came out clean. Another describes a full assessment of the basement with the options priced out, then daily updates while the job ran. A garage job went well enough that the customer had the basement done next. In a February 2025 review, a seller who had the garage coated to help move the house said buyers brought the floor up at showings. Two practical things. The company books up seasonally — an April 2026 customer recommended reaching out early — so line the job up before the season you want it done in. And several customers call the price fair and worth doing rather than cheap, so ask what the quote actually covers: assessment, grinding and prep, the coating itself, and what happens if a spot needs touching up. For a garage, basement or mechanical-room floor you want sealed and easy to keep clean, this is a small crew that shows up when it says it will and cleans up after itself. Get the prep steps written into the quote, and ask how long the floor needs to cure before you can park on it.
We had an great experience with Cape Epoxy on the application of our new epoxy floor. Jake and his team did a great job starting with the initial meeting providing a complete assessment of our basement floor and all the options available. They provided ongoing daily updates ultimately leading to the completion of our brand new floor. If you are looking at giving your floors a nice upgrade, please reach out to Cape Epoxy. Thank you Jake!
I was referred to Jake from Cape Epoxy on April 13th, i called him same day, sent pictures and total Sq footage and had a price in minutes. Jake and his team showed up earlier than planned which was awesome. When i bought the house 4 years ago i couldnt stand the floor and always told my self that i would get around to having the floor refinished. I put an outdoor rug down so i didnt have to look at it. Well i got sick of looking at the rug. Less than a week after calling Jake i was able to get rid of the rug and have a brand new floor and foundation walls. The price could not be beat by anybody local. I went with the Wombat color and love it! Thank you very much Jake & Team.
Jake and the team were fantastic to work with. Clear communication and great end product! We could be happier!
I had Jake and his guys redo my garage floor. I was blowen away with the end result. It came out better than I imagined. I Ended up having them go and redo my basement after. Highly recomennd them.
Jake at Cape Epoxy did a solid job from start to finish. He was easy to communicate with, showed up when he said he would, and kept everything on track. You can tell he knows what he’s doing. The prep work was done right, which is where most epoxy jobs fail. The floor came out clean, even, and professional with no missed spots or issues. He paid attention to details and didn’t rush the process. Pricing was fair for the quality of work, and there were no surprises along the way. If you want someone reliable who takes pride in the job, Jake is a good choice. I’d use him again.
