Saulnier Floors is a family-owned Peabody hardwood flooring company that traces back to 1951, grown from a two-man shop by president Paul Saulnier — who started working alongside his father Ralph 'Babe' Saulnier in 1979 — into what the company describes as the North Shore's largest flooring operation. It's an NWFA-certified member offering installation, sanding and refinishing, staining, custom stair work, epoxy garage floors, plus a showroom and flooring distribution. The review record is long and mostly strong: 28 reviews from 2021 through May 2026, the large majority five stars. A repeat general contractor client wrote in 2023 that Saulnier had never done a less-than-perfect job for him in over 15 years. Homeowners describe complex jobs handled well — splicing new flooring into existing rooms that were out of square, refinishing a decades-old glossy finish without sanding through, and installing hardwood over a partially below-grade slab foundation that other companies had turned down. Garage epoxy work comes up often and consistently well-reviewed, including one job finished carefully around a heating system and garage door tracks. There's also a real thread of complaints worth weighing. A July 2025 review, rated three stars, describes the office doing unauthorized work after the customer had explicitly said they didn't want to proceed with part of the proposal — a trust issue rather than a workmanship one.
