Verified record
Capital G Inspections is a one-person operation built around inspector Garrett FitzGerald, and the record splits sharply: 45 five-star reviews describing exceptionally thorough, detailed work, against four one-star reviews describing the same failure every time — paying for an inspection and never receiving the written report. The praise is specific and repeats certain elements: reports with photos and itemized findings, patient walkthroughs that explain issues in plain language, and repeat customers — several reviewers say they used Garrett two or three times across different home purchases. A 2023 review describes him arriving within 24 hours of a request ahead of a tight purchase-and-sale deadline; a February 2025 review describes him catching issues a previous inspector had missed, with the report delivered within 24 hours. The negative side is concentrated in one stretch: four 1-star reviews dated between December 2024 and April 2025 all describe the same problem — paying (in one case $450, plus an extra $200 for a rush timeline in another) and then waiting weeks to over two months for a report Garrett stopped responding about, with one reviewer calling it a scam and another going seven weeks without ever receiving theirs. Every review since then, through the most recent one on file from November 2025, describes a completed, delivered report with no repeat of this specific problem — but it's a serious enough pattern to raise directly before booking. For a home inspection with Garrett at Capital G, the depth and technical quality described across dozens of accounts is real and consistent — just get clear written terms on when the report will be delivered, given the documented stretch where several customers say they never got one at all.

Garrett was extremely thorough and informative throughout the entire inspection process. He was early to the property not only beating myself but also our agent to the property. By that time he had also inspected the roof of the building as well as it's exterior presenting all potential concerns. He took the time to answer any questions that I had and delivered a well detailed inspection report that helped us to make an informed decision on the eventual purchase of our home. I couldn't recommend him enough to any potential home buyer.
Perfect all around. I plan to have you inspect my next home. Thank you for your time
I can’t recommend Garrett at Capital G Inspections enough! He’s super knowledgeable, thorough, and didn’t miss a single detail while inspecting the entire building at the townhouse. Locked doors? No problem for him! Highly recommend his friendly and professional service!
Scam. Paid cash after inspection, Garrett then proceeded to blow off my calls and coming up with excuses on why he could not get the report to me. After repeated attempts on trying to get a written report. Garrett no longer answered my messages, voicemails or calls. Do not pay cash and don’t not pay before you have everything. Guy is a lazy, smelly inspector who will rip you off if given the chance. DO NOT HIRE!
I recently had the chance to work with Garrett and Capital G Inspections, and I was impressed to say the least. He was attentive, detailed and even found a few items that the previous inspector overlooked. He was able to schedule our inspection quickly and we ended up receiving the report within 24 hours and we were able to keep our deadline for P&S. I would definitely recommend Capital G to anyone looking for a professional home inspection experience.
