Capitol Siding & Home Improvement is an Auburn shop that's been a BBB-accredited business since 1956 and currently holds an A+ grade there — a long institutional history behind what shows up now as a deep run of detailed, specific reviews across windows, siding, gutters, roofing and exterior repairs. The Better Business Bureau lists a Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs & Business Regulation registration (#212148, expiring 2028) and a Department of Public Safety license (CS-102753, expiring September 2026) for the company. Roofing is where the reviews get most vivid. One homeowner described a Facebook panic post about a leak turning into Matt showing up the next morning, climbing onto the roof, and patching it on the spot — for free. Another said Matt arrived at 8am after a storm, traced a leak to a previous roofer's shortcut with caulking, and fixed it in fifteen minutes without charging anything. A third homeowner, comparing five roofing quotes, said Matt told them outright their existing roof was fine and could last a couple more years — the opposite of an upsell. Ice dam removal, full roof replacements with skylights, and storm-damaged roof and porch repairs all turn up the same way: fast response, an explained diagnosis, and cleanup called out by name. On the siding and window side, the pattern repeats — homeowners describe full exterior overhauls (old aluminum siding swapped for vinyl, every door and window replaced), century-old-home projects handled without shortcuts, and a recurring cast of named installers (Bill, Tony, Nate, Adam, Cesar, Jimmy) praised for working through bad weather and leaving sites clean daily. Several reviewers mention Capitol's price came in well under quotes from larger window and siding companies for less thorough work. Not every account is glowing. In a 2024 review, one customer said Capitol's quote came in lowest but with the least detail of several bids, and that the company wouldn't rewrite it to itemize the scope the way competitors had — leaving them wondering why. For a roof leak, a storm-damaged section, or a full exterior job, the pattern here is a company that shows up fast and explains what it's doing; the one thing worth asking for up front is a fully itemized written scope before signing, given the one account of a bare-bones quote.
“We used Capitol Siding out of Auburn but I know they travel all over the state for jobs. Total cost was just around $18,000. This was for new construction windows, not replacements, as we needed to replace the sills too.”
Capital did my siding, doors, gutters and windows. My house looks amazing and the workmanship and customer service is outstanding. Nice to have a reliable company with helpful knowledgeable staff to work with in this day and age of no customer service.
I had an excellent experience with Matt and his team when I needed a new roof. Matt was very responsive to my inquiry and when he came out to the house he took the time to explain the estimate and the details of the roof being installed. I don't think anyone was going to beat his price, I was extremely happy with the quote. On the day of the install they were on time and worked until after dark to complete the job. The team did an excellent job cleaning around the house and left without any evidence that they were there. When I had some questions after the job was done Matt showed up at my house to make sure I was 100% satisfied. It was on overall amazing experience. I would not hesitate to call Matt again for any of my contracting needs.
We had the most amazing experience. After meeting with several roofing companies, Mateus Biedron from Capitol came and blew us away. His knowledge and experience was clear from the start. Their price was among the lowest yet offered the most. As a former Builder and Insurance Adjuster I have high standards and he exceeded my expectations every step of the way.
Had my roof replaced 4/15/26. Everything outstanding service and quality work. Matt was terrific to work with, from planning, demo& phases of installion, completion and cleanup. Will be using Capitol for future home projects.
Matt and Capitol Siding were great to work with, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! This was basically a full exterior overhaul - swapping out old, beat up aluminum siding with vinyl, replacing ALL the doors and ALL the windows, and fixing a couple of the gutters. Once I met with Matt to discuss the project, I didn't even bother to shop around for proposals. There were a couple hiccups in the order, and Matt was quick to reach out with alternatives (and I definitely came out all the better for it each time.) Bill and Tony did a beautiful job installing the windows, including a custom one in the bathroom, and the siding looks terrific. They really went the extra mile, and I couldn't recommend them more highly! (Don't mind the missing flashing under the back door - I was too happy to wait for the finished photo.)
