Twelve reviews going back to 2018, and nearly every one names the same person: Christine Caulfield. Caulfield Environmental works out of Leominster and does one thing — lead paint. Its site describes XRF testing, reinspections, post-compliance assessments and RRP checks for Massachusetts and Rhode Island property owners, and says Christine Caulfield owns and runs the company, with Sean Caulfield as the other primary inspector. What customers keep describing is being taught rather than alarmed. A reviewer in July 2026 put it directly: other lead inspectors "communicate with fear," while Christine "communicates with gentleness and clear, concise, and actionable information." A March 2025 customer described her working room by room through a house built in the late 1800s and turning the report around overnight. In a September 2023 review, a homeowner having a single-family inspection done noted transparent pricing and tests run beyond what had been asked for. The published numbers all point the same way: 5★ from 10 Google ratings and an A+ on a BBB page the company hasn't sought accreditation on. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0 from three reviews — but the two carry identical profile text and the same three comments, so that pair is one listing rather than two, and two of those three date to August 2018. The tenure figures don't line up. The company's site says it has been handling lead compliance since 1991 and self-reports 35 years; Angi and HomeAdvisor list a 1990 founding and 36 years; BBB records the business as started 3/16/2017, nine years in. Those can describe different things — a career versus a registered entity — but if long experience is the reason you're calling, ask which is which. The credentials are the company's own statement as well: it says Christine holds a master lead paint inspector's license and Sean is a licensed lead paint inspector, neither confirmed here against the state. For a landlord, buyer or owner who needs a lead certificate and wants the rules explained in plain terms, this is a small, owner-run shop whose customers consistently describe fast reports and patient answers. Confirm the inspectors' license status with the state, and work out which service you actually need — initial inspection, reinspection, PCAD or RRP assessment — before you book.
