Environmental Testing and Research Laboratories is a water testing laboratory in Leominster, and the first thing to know is a state action: in 2021, wbjournal.com reported that the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection had revoked its license. A 2024 Reddit poster wrote that they had read the lab lost its Massachusetts state license for providing false or inaccurate results back in 2021. A 2023 customer also noted that the lab was not certified by the state of Massachusetts as of 2021. The company says it has been in business 31 years. A recent customer who had been sent in circles by two separate filtration companies said that after testing and speaking with Nick, they got answers that helped them fix the problems they were having. A recent customer thanked Nick and Joshua for the time they spent going over their well water issues. A 2026 customer from New Hampshire said the lab director suspected their well cap was buried and told them to extend the well above ground level, replace the cap and have the well shocked. About 5 weeks later, that customer wrote, the water had no foul smell. A 2025 customer said they had used ETR for both water and air tests and that staff reviewed the results with them on the phone. A 2023 customer said yearly arsenic testing showed their arsenic filter was still good, after a filter company had said it was due to be replaced. A 2022 customer said they picked up sample bottles, dropped the sample back off and had results in 3 days at a reasonable cost.
“They recommended ETR labs for testing but I was googling reviews and saw that they lost their Massachusetts state license for providing false or inaccurate results back in 2021.”
“Environmental Testing and Research Laboratories, Inc., a water testing laboratory in Leominster, has had its license revoked by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, according to a Monday announcement from MassDEP.”
“The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (“MDEP”) issued a November 29th news release stating that it had revoked the license of Environmental Testing and Research Laboratories, Inc. (“ETR”) of Leominster, Massachusetts.”
“The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) has revoked the license of a water-testing laboratory after a state investigation determined that the company, Environmental Testing and Research Laboratories, Inc. (ETR) of Leominster, repeatedly failed to properly analyze private drinking water samples and report the test results in accordance with its certification and state regulations.”
