Ninety-one Google ratings, a 5.0 average, and one word that runs through nearly all of them: fast. Homeowners across the Worcester area kept describing the same sequence in 2024 and 2025 — the power goes out, four electricians don't call back, Brandon does, and someone is at the house the same day. The company trading as Central Mass Electrical Contractors is closely identified with Brandon Hill, whom reviewers name as the principal owner and who personally answers the phone. A customer writing in November 2024 said they had been calling electricians for three weeks with no return calls, reached Brandon by voicemail, and had a callback in 30 minutes and the fault fixed the next morning. A December 2024 reviewer whose house was hit by a snow-loaded tree got a response in ten minutes. Another, in November 2025, lost power when wind tore the electrical riser off the house and said several companies advertising urgent repairs failed to follow through — the crew that did also coordinated with the inspector so National Grid could reconnect the same day. The work behind the speed is ordinary residential electrical done carefully: corroded and outdated panel replacements, service upgrades and sub-panels, knob-and-tube found in a 2024 job and rewired, smoke and carbon-monoxide detector swaps, recessed lighting, fuse boxes in three-deckers. A September 2024 client in Shrewsbury noted the crew laid out garage outlets and conduit neatly and vacuumed before leaving. Reviewers in 2024 and 2025 repeatedly called the prices fair, and one said a charge was lowered when a job took less time than planned. Two things to weigh, and they point the same direction. The company now trades as Markarian Electric, and in June 2026 a resident on r/ArlingtonMA wrote that Gibbons, the electrician they had used for years, had been bought by "some outfit named Markarian," and that a quote for an EV charger installation came back at roughly triple what they expected — enough that they said they would not call again. That is the single most recent comment on file and the only critical one, and it concerns pricing under the newer brand rather than the quality of any work. The 90 five-star reviews behind it were written between 2023 and December 2025, before that comment. A strong call for a Worcester-area homeowner with an electrical emergency, an aging panel, or knob-and-tube to deal with — the responsiveness in this record is unusually consistent. Get the quote in writing and compare it before committing, particularly on discretionary work like an EV charger, and ask who will actually be doing the job now that the business trades under the Markarian name.
“Gibbons, who I used for years, got bought by some outfit named Markarian. I let them quote me for an EV charger installation and it was probably triple what I was expecting. Never calling them for another quote at this point.”
My house had no heat and Brandon answered my text quickly and was over to save the day in no time!
10/10 service and highly recommended! Heavy winds brought down a tree on top of the power line and disconnected the electrical riser attached to my home, leaving me without power. I called several companies advertising “urgent repairs,” but only CMEC followed through. Brandon from CMEC was responsive, efficient, and professional throughout the entire process. He completed the repair quickly, kept the work area clean and organized, and even coordinated with the inspector so National Grid could reconnect the wire the same day. My power was restored within hours. Excellent communication, clean workmanship, and true professionalism.
Wow! I was having some electrical issues and had no idea what was causing them. I contacted what felt like a million companies, and most of them said they wouldn’t be available for at least two days. Fortunately, Brandon reached out to me, quickly identified what could be causing the problem, and was able to come over the same day! His customer service and kindness were absolutely out of this world. If you're looking for a great electrician, look no further. If you have the chance to meet Brandon or have him do any electrical work, you’ll be blown away. We need more professionals like him and companies like this one. Thank you again, Brandon!
I called around 8 o’clock in the morning to inquire about getting my smoke detectors replaced. Brandon called me back almost immediately and John was at my house by 11:30. John also waited patiently while I ran out to Home Depot to get the right kind of carbon monoxide detectors, Even after I assured both of them over the phone that I had the right kind I really didn’t lol. He was super nice about it though. This was a small job, but I would definitely use them again for a larger job in the future. I had also given them a heads up that I have a large dog, which I always like to do when someone new is coming into the house. Brandon was so funny he sent me pictures of his dogs and said they love going into homes with dogs.
Brandon was responsive and knowledgeable, having me check with National Grid re: my partial power outage before he sent someone to my house. Once I determined the issue was in my home, he sent a technician over in under an hour and the problem was fixed quickly. I would definitely use CMEC again for any electrical work I need done!
