CertaPro Painters of Boston, run out of Brighton by owner Rich Carmosino and a rotating crew, has one of the busiest painting histories on file: 89 reviews across Google and other platforms from 2021 through today, with nine more in just the last six months and none of them negative. The overwhelming majority of what's quoted here is five stars, and the range of work goes well past a standard interior repaint — commercial storefronts, multi-year condo-building painting contracts, and a church renovation for the Boston Center of Self-Realization Fellowship all show up. Several jobs stand out for their difficulty. In a 2023 review, an architect described CertaPro repainting his own 1910 house's exterior — old chipped shingles, deep soffits, period shutters — and scanning the paint color to match a historic district's requirements, all at a fair fixed price despite the one-off conditions. Another review described a specialty EIFS stucco painting process, work outside typical residential scope. One customer had a crew member repair a ceiling, replace several shower tiles, smooth cracked walls, and paint a bathroom in a single visit; another had the team address extensive smoke damage in an apartment left by a tenant who'd been smoking indoors. Rich's process comes up constantly: several reviewers describe getting competing quotes and picking CertaPro for being fair-priced and clearly explained, with office staff handling scheduling and communication once a job starts. Repeat business is common — multiple condo buildings and individual homeowners describe hiring the crew more than once over the years. Not every job has gone this smoothly. In a 2023 review, a customer said paint on a repaired deck began chipping within three months and looked worse than before the work within six; the owner told them normal walking-surface wear wasn't covered under warranty, and the customer felt the surface hadn't been properly prepped or double-coated. It's worth asking directly how a deck or other high-wear surface will be prepped and what the warranty covers before a similar project. Google puts the business at 4.9 stars from 131 ratings, in line with the volume and consistency described above.
Someone recommend me CertaPro to paint my entire 2Bedroom apt in downtown Boston and can’t be happier. They are nice people, professional and clean. I forgot to move the furniture and they did it for me. They paint but also cover holes I had in the walls and all is fantastic. I had the pleasure to meet Joseph, which speaks English and Spanish perfectly, and we had a fun chat while doing the job. I can’t recommend them enough!
Rich and Joseph were great to work with and delivered everything they said they would and more. The work was fairly priced and done quickly and with quality. Highly recommend
CertaPro did a great job! The crew that painted my condo was very professional and took a lot of care to make sure that the job was done properly. I am extremely pleased with the work that they did and highly recommend them to anyone. Carl Ingrao
Great people, great job, easy scheduling, I will be using them again.
Did a great job working on walls and ceilings that were very old, from a house built in 1875. They also worked with me on the cost. Very happy with the result.
