Chakar Construction, Inc. works out of 100 Rosemont St in Haverhill, Massachusetts, and is run by its owner, Ramy Chakar. Homeowners across the Merrimack Valley call it for floors above all — hardwood installation and refinishing, laminate, and ceramic and porcelain tile — with painting, bathroom and kitchen remodelling and finished basements alongside. The customer record is unusually consistent. Both directory profiles the company keeps show a 5.0 average with every rating at five stars: 32 on Angi and 18 on HomeAdvisor. Those two counts overlap heavily rather than stacking, because several of the same customers wrote up the same job on both sites, and one says plainly that he found the company through Angie's List. What those customers describe, over accounts stretching from 2019 into late 2025, is a small operation where the owner is the one on site. They write about him performing or directly supervising the work rather than passing it to subcontractors, about being walked through options before decisions were made, and about design help — picking tile, matching colours, and pointing them toward cheaper materials that still worked. Quoted job values run from a few hundred dollars for a small repair up to roughly eleven thousand for combined painting and flooring. Municipal permit records add one larger job to that picture: a $65,000 kitchen remodel with new drywall in Newburyport, permitted in August 2023. Most of that written history is now dated. The bulk of the accounts predate 2021, and the newest of them is from late 2025, so what customers wrote describes the company as it worked in earlier years rather than this season. There is one thing worth pinning down before you sign anything: the company's own profiles cannot agree on how long it has been trading. HomeAdvisor states eight years of experience, Angi states 31, and Angi's own description claims more than 60 years in the industry. The Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration BuildZoom lists for the company, number 206028, carries an issue date of 30 January 2026, which is recent and does not on its own support the longer figures. Ask directly which of those numbers describes the company and which describes Ramy Chakar's personal career, and confirm the registration yourself with the state. A couple of smaller notes. BuildZoom gives the company a score of 91 — that ranking comes from permit history, not from customers, and BuildZoom itself holds no reviews for the firm. HomeAdvisor states the business serves Spanish-speaking customers. This is a sensible call for a homeowner who wants floors, tile or a bathroom done by the owner rather than a rotating crew, and who values design input during the job. Confirm the licence, ask for references from the last year rather than the older ones on file, and get the scope and timeline in writing.

They did thoughtful, careful and excellent work repairing a corner section of my house's exterior that had extensive water and carpenter ant damage. They went above and beyond by suggesting and constructing solutions to prevent further water damage in the future. I would recommend their services and plan to use them in the future.

Ramy and his team did an amazing job with our flooring and the remodeling of our bathroom. The outcome was perfection and I couldn't be more happy with the result. Ramy even helped me save on supply costs by helping me find great alternatives. He is the first person I'll call for any projects coming up and I can't recommend him highly enough. (job value $7,000)
