Call Chalker when the tank runs dry and, by most accounts on Google, someone shows up. A customer writing in March 2026 described a last-minute order after forgetting to reorder; another, in April 2026, named the technician who serviced their oil burner and called the work thorough and clean. The company runs out of 1227 Route 28A in Cataumet and says it has delivered fuel and serviced heating, cooling and plumbing systems since 2009, with Mark and Terry Chalker at the head of it. It describes itself as woman-, veteran- and family-owned, and lists Wareham, Falmouth, Plymouth and Yarmouth alongside its home village as the territory it covers. Its BBB page is an A+, accredited since 2010, and shows an LLC formed in October 2009 with six employees. Google puts the company at 4.6 across 27 ratings, and the written comments cluster around two things: the delivery truck and the service van. Prices were called competitive by a homeowner in 2022, who also liked that the business is family run and local. A 2023 reviewer went out of their way to credit an office staffer, Michelle, with clear answers before any money changed hands — worth knowing if you dislike chasing a company for information. The account running the other way is from 2021, and it is about the front end rather than the wrench work. A homeowner who came in on a friend's recommendation for an air-conditioning installation said the quote dragged on for nearly twelve weeks and took five follow-up calls, and the answer, when it finally came, was that the company's numbers were wrong and it was too busy to take the job. That is a scheduling and communication failure on a large install, five years old now, and nothing in the more recent comments repeats it — but it is the one story here with real specifics attached. If you are on the upper Cape and want a fuel supplier that also services the equipment it fills, this is that shape of business: small, long-established, and strongest on delivery, maintenance and repair. For a larger project — a full central-air or mini-split installation — get the quote and a start date in writing before you commit, and ask directly whether the crew has capacity in the season you need. For a service call or a delivery contract, the history is steadier.
Chalker is very good choice for your oil service. They have fair pricing and very good technicians for the service side. You will not be disappointed. I've had them service my oil burner and the service person, Rich, is very thorough, clean and very knowledgeable. The price for service is very reasonable. Thank you Chalker!!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!
