We purchased our new construction home from Champion in 2023. Overall, we like our home, and most of the people we dealt with at Champion throughout the process were great. Unfortunately, our experience dealing with Tom was very different. Communication with him was consistently difficult, argumentative, and unpleasant. My husband and I are both very easygoing people, but trying to address concerns with Tom was incredibly frustrating. The home itself is nice, but the quality and attention to detail were not quite what we expected from new construction. We have dealt with a number of cosmetic issues, cracking, and areas that have needed to be repaired or redone. Our biggest issue was the grading and drainage of the property. We experienced significant flooding in the backyard from the beginning. Champion initially tried to address it, but the problem continued and ultimately required an underground drain. We also did additional grading ourselves to help with the flooding. When we later raised concerns about water near the foundation, we were told that because we had brought equipment onto the property to address the grading, our warranty was void, which was extremely frustrating given that the drainage problems were why we did the work in the first place. Three years later, we like our home, but I wish the experience after purchasing had been different. When you make such a significant investment in a brand new home, you should be able to raise legitimate concerns without every conversation feeling like an argument.
The house overall was a solid build but the issues we had fell on deaf ears. Everything blamed on settling. Hardwood floors a major problem( cracks everywhere). My third home installing hardwood and never had this problem.
We had an amazing experience with buying our first home with Champions. From start to finish they did a fantastic job and couldn't be happier. Our realtor, handyman and other professional folks who helped us decorate the house all had very great comments on the level of detail and thought that went into the house!
My fiancé and I recently purchased a brand new home from Champion Builders and we could not be happier with their quality of work and communication. Tom, Sarah, and their crew are professional, responsive, and were always available to take our questions during the buying process. They have also been extremely reliable with handling minor tweaks during the initial move in stage. Our real estate attorney is an old school guy who has been in the business for many years, and he was very complimentary of their team (which isn't always the case). Whether you are exploring building a custom home, or purchasing a prior build, you will be very happy with Champion. Thanks guys.
We've been working with Champion Builders and they've been very professional. No issues at all, scheduling is always on time or even early. Looking forward to continuing our work with them."
